Dupont's Legacy
We need, at times, to look beyond greatness in our immediate circle for inspiration.
I joined a few co-workers, late in summer 2019, for a tour of Longwood Gardens. What a grand arrangement of gardens, acres long two story green houses, and an incredible food court. The most amazing spectacle were the fountains.
I use this term, ‘fountain’, in one's respect to how water is choreographed so artfully. Modern technology enable water streams to emerge from massive marble basins as basket weave, flowing lava and colorful flames.
We experienced this miraculous showing through the investment of Pierre Dupont, over 60 years ago. His endowment maintains a serene tree-lined farm he used to escape urban hustle. Dupont's money handlers did not squander his wealth, they financed today’s state-of-the-art water garden.
