I can never pick a favorite photo to share😅 This is probably one of the biggest and oldest deer I have done! He’s just a 6-point but had a massive noggin😂 He gave me new challenges but I didn’t back down💪🏼

During the whitening process the antlers can be affected. I don’t have a well ventilated place to use stain to touch up the antlers so I came up with my own method: COFFEE!!! ☕️😃 I soak paper towels in coffee then carefully wrap them around the areas I want to darken. Don’t get it on the bone though or it will stain the skull. From there I will leave it for 24-48 hours then repeat if necessary.

Season is over and it’s time to work on some mounts. The wind is picking up but at least it’s 🔥 in the tent😄

It was a rough year for hunting. Between the warm weather and the mast year for acorns, we hardly saw deer this season. I was blessed to harvest this guy though and my hubby got a doe. Two deer to add meat to our freezer!
