✨ Relive an Unforgettable Evening of Agra-Atrauli Classical Brilliance! ✨
Our recent concert, Shringar Nishad - The Melodies of Khamaj Thaat, featuring veteran Agra-Atrauli gharana vocalist Vidushi Bharathi Prathap, was a true masterclass in Hindustani classical music.
Bharathi ji opened the evening with a stunning rendition of Raag Jhinjhoti—the primary Aashray Raag of Khamaj Thaat. She then captivated the audience with a signature Nom-Tom Aalap in Raag Jog, followed by a special audience request: Raag Malati Bihag, complete with an exquisitely elaborate Tarana. From her effortless mastery across low and high octaves to her incredible voice projection, the performance left the audience spellbound and yearning for more.
The vocal magic was complemented seamlessly by Yogeesh Bhat’s brilliant tabla accompaniment and Sarang Kulkarni’s melodious harmonium support.
What Our Audience Had to Say:
💬 “Thank you is not sufficient for the service you did today for us. The maestro you brought so close to us in a small mehfil format. She has Saraswati’s blessings for sure. The voice which is confident & sharp like a knife... She contains great strength & stamina of throat & voice.” — In-person attendee
