“Never, ever be afraid to make some noise and get in good trouble, necessary trouble.” ~ John Lewis

Big thanks to Natalie Manes (Natalie) for hosting Paper & Paste: A Wheatpaste Workshop at DVAA (Da Vinci Art Alliance) where we learned everything from soup to nuts on wheatpasting - the history and purpose of this ephemeral art, a demo on how to make wheatpaste, and a hands-on wheatpasting session out in the wild! It was truly magical! 😎🙌✨

So happy I was able to get a jump start on the The Center for Emerging Visual Artists (CFEVA) Philadelphia Open Studio Tours (POST) during my lunch break this week, and especially excited to see Justin Duerr’s beautifully intricate and breathtaking artwork at Blick University City (former space of Plaza Artist Materials & Picture Framing). Always a treat to see in person!

Per the artist statement: “The two large pieces in the center are panels of a series of interconnecting works which connect left-to-right. I plan to do them ‘til my dying breaths, at which point I hope to connect the last to the first. These are panels number 42 & 43. I began this project 26 years ago.” Wow!

There will be a reception in the store on Sunday, 10/11 from 1-5 PM.

Big thanks to Adam Weiner (Low Cut Connie), Tom Cunningham and 107.1 the Boss for a very special at Bar Anticipation in lovely Lake Como! Adam beautifully played “Incident on 57th Street”, my favorite song on Springsteen’s album The Wild, the Innocent, and the E Street Shuffle. What a treat! 🎸🎶✨

On Sunday, September 13th, I have TWO pieces of work making their grand debut at The Plastic Club!

All are invited from 2-5 PM to the Opening Reception for TRANSITIONS, the September 2026 show! “Liminal”, shown here, is a monoprint and acrylic painting I created earlier this summer at the Philadelphia sketch club with the amazing and talented Charlotte Holt.

I also have work in the new exhibit in the Plastic Club’s vitrine - DARE TO BE DADA! - a playful, provocative exhibition curated by Selene Nuñez-Cruz (TelenitART) reflecting on today’s incongruous world through collage, humor, chance, absurdity, and unexpected combinations. My piece is “Boy - Are They Easy to Wash Clean!” is a mixed media collage piece I created on a small wood panel.
