We are happy to share that in a few short months, we will be opening an Arts Center!
The Kinfolk Arts Center will be a space for learning, inspiring, and healing through the arts. Alice and Daisy’s Kin will operate the center. It will be located in the Rev. Leon H. Sullivan Community Impact Center. It marks the next step in our beautiful journey of living intentionally creative lives and helping others do the same. Since 2017, we have been operating as a mobile arts studio meeting people’s creative needs all over the United States. The center will be a home for us, the Nicetown-Tioga community, and so many more people!
Join us on March 7th to experience a typical day in the arts center for yourself!
Listen to a Conversation with Taylor-1:00 p.m.
We will start the day with a conversation with visual artist, Taylor Gordon, MFA. We will talk about her career, roots in Philly, her wonderful connections to Zion Baptist Church, her path to becoming an artist, and advice for emerging artists.
Learn about Expressive Art Therapies: 2:00 p.m.
Next, Sahara Sampson, a provisionally certified registered Art Therapist, and Rayna Richardson, a licensed and registered Dance/Movement therapist, will discuss expressive art therapies and their respective careers.
Make Art-3:00 p.m.
We will end the day with hands-on art experiences led by Monique, Monica, and Kin. You can crochet, make prints, color, paint, and make clay sculptures.
We will also talk about ways that you can be involved as we build our new home!
