Pop Quiz! Which comedy show mixes lecturers from the world of academia with hilarious improvisers to create an entertaining and educational live show you won’t experience anywhere else? Study Hall!

This unique comedy show mixes lectures with improv comedy to create an experience that is both entertaining and educational! In a special collaboration with the University of Pennsylvania School of Nursing, one of the nation’s leading institutions in health and research, distinguished guests will share fascinating insights from their fields. Then, a cast of some of Philly’s best improvisers will spin that knowledge into hilarious scenes right before your eyes. You’ll learn a little, laugh a lot, and see how world-class scholarship and quick-witted comedy make the perfect match. Don’t be tardy!

A classic Study Hall story comes to an end. The last living grandson of President John Tyler - who was born in 1790! - has died at the age of 96.

Both John Tyler and his grandson were from Charles City County, Virginia. The time between the president's birth and his grandson's death spans 235 years.

Pop Quiz! Which long running comedy show that mixes lectures and laughs is finally making its Indy debut? Study Hall! We're so excited to announce that Study Hall: Comedy Inspired By Lectures is coming to Indianapolis as part of the 2025 IndyFringe Festival! We will have 3 performances on the IF Theater's Basile Stage.

This is not a visiting production! Study Hall will have a *home* in Indianapolis with original Study Hall Philly Director, Mike Marbach leading the class. This means auditions will need to happen to create a cast! Look for information about auditions here and via our mailing list very, very soon.

Study Hall mixes lectures on a wide variety of topics with improv comedy to create an experience unlike you have seen before – or will see again! Guests from all walks of life will speak on a topic from their field of expertise after which our cast of amazing improvisers will use what they learned (or didn’t learn) to create hilarious scenes right before your eyes! You’ll learn, laugh, and leave without homework. Tickets on sale in June!

Study Hall has performed at / for the Franklin Institute, the Philadelphia Museum of Art, The Academy of Natural Sciences, The Museum of the American Revolution, Drexel University, Arizona State University, and more!
