Staring at this painting I did in 2020, and seeing it in an entirely different way. Everywhere my eyes roam over this, they make a new discovery or connection. I feel the rage burning up inside and how she chooses to embrace it. I see how the others are not separate but they are comforting each other. I see how part of her wants to scream but she is choosing to stay calm and let it all burn around her, even if parts of her burn with it.

Acrylic on canvas, 2020.

Painting- a ritual born out of the need to express an emotion and transmute its energy into a tangible object that serves as both the vehicle through which an emotion is expressed and a monument to its existence at all. In this ritual, the human element is prioritized above all as it is very foundation of and reason for the existence of emotion at all.

The human element can never be replaced.

I have not put myself out there in a long time but that is going to change. As I start posting again, friendly reminder that I am a painter above all and there will NEVER be any A👁 on this page. Every painting you see was created with my hands in my studio with paint I went to the store and bought. The same paint that stains my clothes and embeds itself into my nails. All of my work was born from my own real experiences and emotions, not a prompt. My captions are also from MY brain and reflect my real, very vulnerable and personal thoughts.

Thank you for reading them.

First painting in over a year 🎨

Also, does anyone know how I get the reels I make to post here too? Or did they change that feature? My Instagram stories and posts instantly post here, but not my reels anymore 🤔

A couple weeks ago someone told me some of my art is sexy and some of my art is 😨, and it was the best compliment/observation ever. I've been thinking about it ever since and how I need to get back to painting immediately. Life has really taken over this last year and I've taken a huge break from painting that has honestly drained me of my life force. I promise I'll be back.
