1. What is your name and your pronouns?
Brittany Delaware (She/Her)

2. What is your character's name?
Nina

3. What do you personally identify with most about your character?
I most identify with Nina's pursuit of greatness in her art; her strength to keep fighting through those moments of self-doubt, the feeling of inadequacy that pops up from time to time, and her determination to have an incredible life.

4. What do you enjoy most about acting in a Chekhov play?
This is my first time acting in a Chekhov play, and I love the simplicity of the setting and the focus on authenticity. There's an emotional rawness and a scary sense of vulnerability that my castmates and I bring to the table, and it's exciting to experience that.

5. What would you like the audience to take away from this show?
Chekhov wanted his audiences to relate to his characters - to see themselves. Like every character in this show, every audience member has dreams, and some have regrets about the ones they didn't follow. But like Nina teaches us, it's not over till it's over. Whatever that dream is, whatever the passion - follow it.

1. What is your name and your pronouns?
Name: Quinton J Alexander
Pronouns: He/They

2. What is your character's name?
Boris Trigorin

3. What do you personally identify with most about your character?
Trigorin is a successful writer who in spite of his successes feels like its never enough so he keeps moving forward no matter what. I think the idea of success being temporary or not exactly knowing how to define success or even happiness is something I think about constantly. I've been an artist my whole life and have had some successes and failures however I never feel like "I've made it" or whatever but I know that I'll keep making art because it's what I know and what I love to do.

4. What do you enjoy most about acting in a Chekhov play?
This will be my first time performing in a Chekhov play and before this production I was only familiar with him by name only. Before my audition I read the script for The Seagull and I'm so glad I did. All of the characters felt so real to me with lives that are truly lived in. Taking on the role of Trigorin has been such a rewarding challenge for me playing both his grand and subtle moments. There's a certain authenticity to the characters that feels like you're just watching these characters live their lives.

5. What would you like the audience to take away from this show?
There are characters that you may see as good guys or bad guys but I don't think there are any real heroes or villains in this story. They make mistakes, they hurt each other, they misinterpret the feelings of others as well as their own feelings and I think that's a very human thing. I think something people can take away from this show is that everyone is fighting their own inner battles both in this show and in real life so we should give each other and ourselves grace as we travel through this thing called life.

1. Britt Fauzer, She/Her
2. Masha
3. I appreciate Masha’s resilience and commitment to change in spite of her circumstances. She seeks solutions to her personal pain no matter how much it breaks her heart.
4. Chekhov is just so ordinary. When performed like this, we can both laugh at and sympathize with these characters, rejoice at their triumphs and mourn their disappointments. It’s intimate and at times scary to act in, but I find it impactful for the audience.
5. We are all going through our own things at any time, aren’t we? Be kind to others foremost but also be kind to yourself. Despite our struggles and pain we can find out own small ways to persevere. Sometimes doing things poorly is better than not doing anything at all. Don’t be afraid to be live life raw and authentically.

3. What I love about Paulina is she is very not afraid to speak from her heart.

4.It is so wonderful to be part of such a talented and supportive ensemble. All characters weave their parts in a beautiful tapestry of the play.

5. I would love for the audience to be transported into the world of our play, and feel a bond with each and every character.

1. What is your name and your pronouns?
Scott Galper (he/him)

2. What is your character's name?
Dr. Evan Dorn

3. What do you personally identify with most about your character?
I identify with Dorn’s calmness in the midst of the emotional storms around him, his low key, often teasing sense of humor, and his esteem of under-appreciated art.

4. What do you enjoy most about acting in a Chekhov play?
Chekhov’s characters are absolutely real and identifiable. I love the mix of humor and pathos, and I’m particularly thrilled that this Chekhov provides the stage for my acting debut. And I’m older than Dorn!

5. What would you like the audience to take away from this show?
I would love the audience to “get” Chekhov from our performance and for this to be the spark that leads someone to seek out more of Chekhov’s plays and short stories.
Most importantly, I am happy that our audience has an opportunity to experience the brilliant work of the actors with whom I’m honored to share this stage.

1. What is your name and your pronouns?
Geremy Webne-Behrman (He/They)

2. What is your character's name?
Simon

3. What do you personally identify with most about your character?
Through the rehearsal process I have realized that I have a great deal in common with Simon. For starters we are both teachers and both people pleasers. However, on another level we share a deep level of empathy. We also both value complete honesty and genuine candor in the people around us.

4. What do you enjoy most about acting in a Chekhov play?
What I find most rewarding about Chekhov is the seemingly endless depth to the characters and world. With Chekhov there is a seemingly limitless world to be found in his scripts as long as you keep on looking.

5. What would you like the audience to take away from this show?
I think this a play where everyone can and should take away something different. If everyone comes with an open mind and an open heart to the show, they will walk away with something just for them, that we the actors never even considered.

1. What is your name and your pronouns? Jennifer Summerfield she/her
2. What is your character's name? Irina Arkadina
3. What do you personally identify with most about your character? I identify with her love for theatre, for the creative process, and I identify with how she struggles to be an artist in her everyday life without falling into self-destructive habits. The fight between her personal life and her artistic life resonates heavily with me.
4. What do you enjoy most about acting in a Chekhov play? He wrote with actors in mind and created scenes that are heaven to perform. He has this way of stripping off all the layers and revealing the core of who you are. You feel at once incredibly exposed and absolutely free. And to connect with other actors who are similarly free is a rare experience that only Chekhov offers.
5. What would you like the audience to take away from this show? Don't wait for life to happen, make your own happiness.

There are many things that can be said about this production, but seeing our show get such a positive review in the Chestnut Hill Local helps to prove the work involved in this show. This cast has gone above and beyond for this show. I wish we had another weekend of shows, but it has to come to an end sooner or later. Today at 3pm is our last show of this amazing production. Please come and support this cast. They have earned every praise that has been heaped their way.

What is your name?:
Taylor Rouillard

Who are you in Antigone?:
I am the director.

Why do you think the story of Antigone is relevant today?:
Antigone really has lasted the test of time. No matter what time you place it in. The story still reigns true until someone breaks the cycle. It’s a timeless piece with a powerful message of what happens when power corrupts you and your ears goes deaf to the voice of reason.

What is a favorite show you directed?

It has to be a tie between this show and my reading of “The Idiot Box”. Both casts were so lovely and really absorbed and took the message with stride.

What do you hope people take away from this show?:

I hope people take away that when in times of uncertainty that we can listen to each other and get through these uncharted times being a little closer together.

Nancy Reeves

Light Board Operator

We have witnessed and are witnessing leaders who use their coercive power to destroy others. Sadly, they destroy the lives of those who love them and ultimately themselves in the process.

Randa - Savannah Sipping Society

I hope that people take away from the show a deeper understanding of how destructive absolute power and dictatorships can be. I also hope that people recognize that they have the peer within themselves to fight against those who wish to take away their liberties and freedom.
