Virginia Bread, CEO/Rap Artist, Stay Smooth of 1800 Gang Entertainment Records grew up in the Petersburg area of VA, as a teen Stay Smooth spit endlessly in cyphers with his cousins and other rappers. Stay Smooth’s first opportunity for a live performance was at the Virginia House of Comedy, a popular local comedy club in Hopewell, VA where he performed two songs “On Deck” feat. Stay Smooth went
on to perform in shows throughout the VA area. Stay Smooth grew up listening to Biggie, Tupac and Jay Z and he is a big fan of the early sounds of Motown. Which explains his style of hip hop, when asked about his style of music “I make music when I am inspired by the mood, so no matter what it is my energy is going to be in it, but I rap for my people in the struggle and my kids so they can’t help but feel me” says Stay Smooth. He started out on Wilcox with N.O.V.A Salute A Haze and has had singles released on “Hosted by Protect Ya Neck Records...North Meets South Compilation Vol 2, as well as Bounce It and TMS by Protect Ya Neck Records. Stay Smooth decided to go Independent after a few mishaps in the music industry. Soon after making that decision Stay Smooth decided that he could provide a platform for other artist trying to come up. 1800 Gang Entertainment was founded in 2015 with Stay Smooth as its first signed artist. The young CEO quickly made boss moves investing time and energy in developing the label and the brand. Stay Smooth’s future plans include collaborating with various singers and artists, seeking out the next and hottest artist coming to solidify VA’s slot in Hip Hop. With Stay Smooth’s strong business sense and knowledge of good music shows a promising future for the emerging mogul.
