2 years ago, in 2024 I started the Just.Dance. party as a way to get friends together to spin and listen to weird tunes we like without worrying about what everyone else wanted. What we’ve all been able to build together in those 24 months since…is a real community of beautiful people, from all different walks of life, that enter the space with open minds, and hearts full of love that shows our guests DJ’s how special our local scene really is.
Maybe we’re all looking for the same thing? A place where we don’t have to know exactly who we’re supposed to be. Where saying yes comes easier than saying no, and strangers don’t stay strangers for long.
For a few hours, we just stop trying to control everything. We just accept it. The missed sleep, the chaos, and all the moments that were never part of the plan. We become more open, too.
To ‘Just.Dance.’ to sounds and songs we don’t know. To meeting people we don’t expect. To temporary friendships that somehow feel completely real.
And when it’s over, we don’t leave with all the answers. Just a quieter feeling that maybe we need less than we thought. That maybe the strange world isn’t the one we find here, but the one waiting outside the walls of the dance floor. To let go and know the daily grind of the outside World can wait.
This is a sincere thank you to everyone that supports our little DIY project. Whether it’s buying a ticket and coming out, sharing a flyer, telling someone you know about us, or just telling us we’re doing something right with a hug and a smile. We truly wouldn’t be able to do it without the support of friends, and strangers that we’ve come to know. We have some special plans for Year 3 that we’re gonna try our best to pull off!
I would also like to shout out the team that helps put these parties together with me. Mauricio Cezar , Brody P , Joe Bell , y’all are the ONLY reason Just.Dance. is able to say we’ve made it two years. Thank you for EVERYTHING my friends.
To bettys_on_belmont and theislander, thank you for letting us take over your space and make it 100% our own, no questions asked.
