At 5:00p today we have Matt McCormick's THE GREAT NORTHWEST at the Pendleton Cinema (Movies in Pendleton) - a travel doc based on the re-creation of a 3,200 mile road-trip made in 1958 by four Seattle women who thoroughly documented their journey in an elaborate scrapbook of photos, postcards, and brochures. Fifty years later, Portland artist and filmmaker Matt McCormick found that scrapbook in a thrift store, and in 2010 set out on the road, following their route as precisely as possible and searching out every stop in which the ladies had documented.

Thanks for helping kick off our first night of the festival last night! We're back with plenty more films today - starting at 4p at the Prodigal Son Brewery & Pub "Welcome To The Club," a documentary by Beth Harrington about women in the rockabilly scene. Head over to the Elk's at 6p for "A River Between Us," then at 8p make a tough choice between the Best of the NW Filmmaker's Fest Shorts program OR "Johnny Guitar." So many options!
