A special thank you to the Peekskill Arts Alliance for inviting me to participate in the Peekskill Arts Alliance Members Exhibit, aligned with their Holiday Bazaar a few weeks ago, at the Field Library. It was such a privilege to show my work alongside so many other incredibly creative and talented artists, and I was honored to include a linework piece featuring a hummingbird in the show. Y al mismo tiempo, también es maravilloso tener una obra más permanente en exhibición en el centro de Peekskill, en un edificio histórico tan hermoso.

If you visit Baxter’s Pharmacy, you can see my rendition of Frida Kahlo on display on the side of the building, along with wonderful images from other artists in our community. Mil gracias al fotógrafo Dan Florin, y a todo el personal de Peekskill Arts Alliance que hizo todo esto posible. Fueron muy amables, muy atentos, y realmente comprensivos en cada paso del proceso.

Art is one of the ways I express myself, breathe through hard moments, and find hope in every season. El colibrí me recuerda que lo pequeño también puede ser fuerte, y Frida me inspira a transformar lo vivido en color, fuerza, y arte. En esta temporada de dar, que podamos regalarnos más bondad, más creatividad, y más amor. Feliz Navidad y próspero Año Nuevo.

I’m so grateful for every business that invited me to bring a little extra magic to their windows this season, and Rocky and Pebbles both seem to approve. Gracias a todos los que vinieron a acompañarme en El Coyote Restaurant y por todo su apoyo durante esta hermosa celebración. 🌺💀
El arco que creé para el Día de los Mu***os está lleno de simbolismo: representa la entrada al mundo espiritual, el paso entre la vida y la muerte, y la conexión eterna con nuestros seres queridos. Cada flor y cada color fueron elegidos con intención—para honrar, celebrar y mantener viva la memoria de quienes amamos.
Me siento muy agradecida de haber compartido este momento con amigas tan maravillosas. Gracias por su presencia, su energía y por llenar la noche de alegría y tradición. 💕

The arch I created for Día de los Mu***os carries deep symbolism—it represents the doorway between worlds, the passage from life to death, and the eternal connection we share with those we’ve lost. Each flower and color was chosen with purpose—to honor, celebrate, and keep their memory alive.
I’m so grateful to have shared this moment with such wonderful friends. Thank you for your presence, your energy, and for filling the night with joy and tradition. 💕

Gracias de todo corazón a mis amigos y seguidores que vinieron a apoyarme y celebrar conmigo. Les deseo un feliz (aunque un poquito atrasado) Día de los Mu***os. Como mexicana-estadounidense, este día tiene un significado muy profundo para mí; honra a nuestros seres queridos que nos siguen guiando y también inspira gran parte de mi arte.

Fue un honor compartir mi trabajo en El Coyote Restaurant junto a gente maravillosa. Presenté pinturas en lienzo, maquillaje artístico, piñatas, tocados y un arco de Día de los Mu***os hecho a mano.

Disfruto muchísimo creando diseños de calaveras y catrinas—La Catrina, “la dama elegante,” simboliza la belleza, la fuerza y la unión eterna entre la vida y la muerte. Inspirada en el arte de Posada y Rivera, me encanta pintarla tanto en el rostro como en lienzo—cada obra es una pequeña ofrenda de amor y memoria.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart to all my friends and supporters who came out to celebrate with me. Wishing everyone a belated Día de los Mu***os! As a Mexican-American, this day holds deep meaning for me—it honors our loved ones who continue to guide us and inspires much of my art.

It was such an honor to showcase my work at El Coyote Restaurant among so many wonderful people. I featured canvas paintings, face painting, piñatas, headdresses, and a handmade Día de los Mu***os arch.

I love creating skull and La Catrina designs—La Catrina, the “elegant lady,” symbolizes beauty, strength, and the eternal bond between life and death. Inspired by the works of Posada and Rivera, I enjoy painting her on both faces and canvas—each piece becomes a small offering of love and remembrance.

For Hispanic Heritage Month, I celebrate the symbols that guide my art.
En el Mes de la Herencia Hispana celebro los símbolos que guían mi arte.

The butterfly has always inspired me — in Mexican culture it represents transformation, resilience, and the soul’s eternal journey.
La mariposa siempre me ha inspirado — en la cultura mexicana representa la transformación, la resiliencia y el viaje eterno del alma.

These qualities remind me of my own path as a Mexican American artist.
Estas cualidades me recuerdan mi propio camino como artista mexicano-estadounidense.

I also feel a spiritual connection to Frida Kahlo and often honor her in my work.
También siento una conexión espiritual con Frida Kahlo y a menudo la honro en mi obra.

Her courage, creativity, and unapologetic expression continue to light the way for artists like me, and for all who carry our culture proudly into the future.
Su valentía, creatividad y expresión sin disculpas siguen iluminando el camino para artistas como yo, y para todos los que llevamos nuestra cultura con orgullo hacia el futuro.

This week is also meaningful as we commemorate Mexican Independence Day — a celebration of resilience, freedom, and the traditions we carry forward with pride.
