This July I spent a couple of days at Lori’s Bake Shop photographing something pretty special — a Wizard themed baking camp.

The kids jumped right in on day one, making their cakes completely from scratch. Day two was all about decorating, icing, and turning those cakes into their own little works of magic.

There was Butterbeer, plenty of flour, frosting everywhere, lots of creativity, and no shortage of smiles. I really enjoyed watching the kids get into it and seeing how different each cake turned out.

These are the kinds of days I love photographing. Not just the finished cakes, but the messy hands, the concentration, the laughs, and all those little moments in between.

Thanks to Lori’s Bake Shop for letting me tag along and capture the fun. It was a pretty magical couple of days.

The veil feels a little thinner when the light hits the road just right.

When autumn burns through the trees and the shadows stretch a little longer, I’m reminded that darkness was never something to fear.

There is life in the shadows.
There is beauty in the imperfect.
There is fire in the Spirit.

“For the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you…” — Romans 8:11

I believe the Creator is still creating.
Still breathing life into dead places.
Still hiding little pieces of eternity in ordinary moments.

And maybe that’s why I love photographing people in the places between light and shadow.

Dark frames. Holy fire. Honest souls.

Twenty-five.

A quarter century ago, God handed me one of the greatest gifts I've ever received—a daughter whose name literally means **"a father's joy."** And somehow, you've lived up to it every single day.

Abbie, you've never been afraid to be different. You see beauty where others miss it. You create instead of copy. Bright colors, bold ideas, music turned up too loud, art that tells a story, tattoos with meaning, a style that's unmistakably *you*... you've always reminded me that God isn't a God of black and white. He's wildly creative, and I see pieces of His creativity reflected in you.

What I love most isn't your eye for beauty—it's your heart. The way you love people. The way you keep searching for what's real. The way you refuse to settle for shallow. You remind me that following Jesus isn't about fitting into a mold; it's about becoming who He uniquely created you to be.

Never lose that wonder. Never lose your courage. Keep making beautiful things. Keep asking good questions. Keep living loudly, loving deeply, and pointing people toward light in your own wonderfully authentic way.

Thank you for letting me be your dad. It's one of the greatest honors of my life.

Finley and Abrahm were out there in the thick of the tournament—just pure heart, grass stains, and that unmistakable, golden summer feeling. Two eight-year-olds, one massive park, and a friendship written in the stars.

Watching Opal and Serenity navigate Kings Island felt like stepping into a modern-day fairytale. Amidst the electric energy of the America 250 celebrations, these two best friends lived their absolute best lives—chasing thrills, conquering coasters, and finding wonder in every corner of the park.

Between the blue ice cream, and the endless giggles that drowned out the roar of the tracks, it was pure, unscripted magic.

They didn’t just ride the rides; they created a world where only joy and their inseparable bond existed.

The humid air, the crackle of a backyard display, and the glow of faces I’ve known my whole life. There is something distinctly cinematic about a July 4th spent at the water’s edge—a nostalgia that feels pulled straight from an 80s film frame.

Celebrating 250 years of this wild, beautiful experiment. It’s quiet moments of faith and family that anchor the noise of the celebration. Grateful to document these echoes of home.

Some photos aren't planned.

They happen when the light decides to put on a show.

The Fourth of July this year felt like one of those evenings. After nearly a week of 97–100° heat, the pond wore a soft summer haze as dusk settled in. Golden light danced across the water, the trees glowed in every shade of green, and for a little while everything looked the way I wish summer always felt.

Opal was all in for a walk around the pond, happily stopping whenever I saw another frame. I carried my Leica. She brought the smiles. Together we wandered without much of a plan, just following the light.

These are the photographs I love most. Warm. Honest. A little hazy. Full of bloom and halation. The kind of images that don't just show a moment—they bring you back to it.

No studio.
No schedule.
Just family, a pond I've known my whole life, and one unforgettable summer evening during America's 250th birthday.

Sometimes that's more than enough.

✨It was an honor to be behind the lens for Cyndee and Stacee’s Recital for Cyndee’s Dance Studio this year. Capturing that kind of energy and freezing those fast-moving moments for our community is pure joy—and exactly why being behind the camera is my happiest place. There are milestones, and then there are moments that feel like they were captured right out of a dream. May 17th, we celebrated Delaney’s 21st birthday, and we couldn’t have picked a more stunning backdrop than the incredible Pink Dreams Cottage. 💕

As a photographer, I’m always looking for spaces that inspire creativity. The flawless aesthetic energy of this cottage made it effortless to capture the authentic joy of such a special family milestone. Every corner is a literal dream behind the lens. 📸
