Hi all! My name is Abbey Beaton, and I'll be taking over the performing arts program at Grand Valley HS next year! I'm excited to meet you all.

A little about me:
-I'm from Littleton, CO, and graduated from University of Colorado Boulder this spring. This will be my first year of teaching!
-My main instrument is trumpet, but I've also played percussion, viola, ukulele, and horn in various ensembles.
-Outside of music, I enjoy hiking (I've climbed four 14ers so far, and plan to do two more this summer) and sewing fun clothes for myself (as the weather gets cooler, look for the rainbow-cat-patterned shirt).

I look forward to teaching at GVHS this year!

The musical is this week! The students and staff have been working hard and are looking forward to seeing you this weekend.
Tickets are: $10 for Adults; $5 for students, Seniors (60+) and District Staff.

Come see some of our GVHS students perform tomorrow night at 6pm!

This year, Rifle HS is hosting CMEA District 8 Honor Band. We have 50 students from 9 different schools rehearsing today and tomorrow, getting ready for a FREE concert Saturday night at 6pm. If you have the time, come see an awesome band performance tomorrow evening!

Annnnnnd we’re back! What a year it has been. We have some exciting stuff planned this year, and it starts with marching band! If you know of anyone that is still interested in joining band or color guard please let me know! Anyone is welcome to stop by and check out what we’re doing.

This week’s schedule:
Wednesday 8-12 leadership team
Thursday/Friday 9-12 leadership and freshmen, 1-4 color guard and drumline

Grand Valley High School will be holding their first and only concert of the year next Tuesday, May 4th, in Cardinal Hall at 7:00PM! Performances will be by the band, choir, drama club, and other soloist. Masks are required as it is an indoor event.

We can’t wait to see you there!

The holidays are the busiest time of the year for musicians! GVHS started the season with the band and choir performing at Parachute's Christmas Tree Lighting, then the Choir performed some Christmas Carols at the Rifle Business after-hour party for Hometown Holidays, then 11 students performed at CMU's Best of the West Honor Band, and we'll be rounding out our season with the Combined Middle/High School Winter Concert starting at 6:30PM on Tuesday December 10th. Be sure not to miss the wonderful performances and delicious baked goods!
