🚨 CHERAW, WE HAVE AN OPPORTUNITY! 🚨

I'm organizing a community accessibility walk-through of downtown Cheraw, and I'm looking for people who know firsthand what it's like to navigate our little town when your legs, wheels, balance, or body don't always cooperate.

The plan:

We're going downtown to identify and document accessibility barriers, including sidewalks, curb ramps, crosswalks, parking spaces, and business entrances.

I want to hear from YOU if you: ♿ Use a wheelchair or mobility scooter. 🦯 Use a cane, walker, or other mobility aid. 🚶 Have difficulty walking, balancing, or navigating uneven surfaces. ❤️ Have another disability that makes accessing downtown challenging.

Caregivers, family members, and concerned citizens are welcome.

The mission:

Identify exactly WHERE the problems are, WHAT makes them inaccessible, and HOW they affect real people.

Our findings will be compiled into something that can be presented to the appropriate people.

You don't have to complete the entire walk-through to participate. If there's a particular location you struggle with, I want to know about it.

Accessibility shouldn't be a luxury, and no one should have to risk life, limb, or a perfectly good hip to enjoy downtown Cheraw.

We’re bringing together a little bit of everything for a fun afternoon in the garden. Shop local vendors, enjoy live music from Analog Saints, grab a b**r or glass of w**e, and treat yourself to something delicious from our food trucks. 🍷🎶

Bringing the kids? We’ll have inflatables, games, face painting, popcorn, and trick-or-treating throughout the garden! And don’t forget to dress up those pups for our puppy costume contest. 🐶🎃
