Smelling or eating the flowers? 😂🌸🌻
My name is Hope Knudson! I’m a photographer in Palo Alto, CA shooting natural light and smiles! Hi there! My name is Hope Knudson Stephensen.
I am a native to Virginia but I have been in Utah living it up as a student at Brigham Young University. It has been almost four years since I left the rolling green hills and sticky humidity. Another 4 years went by and I again traded scenery. I have moved to the Bay Area and am looking to continue my photography. I fell in love with photography when I was in my tweenies. Sitting outside on my porch tonight listening to the squeals and little footsteps around the courtyards below. I’m lucky I get to capture the magic that is childhood. 🎃🧡
Some pictures from last weeks family session in the gardens🌹🌷🌸
Spinning around in elevators with shoes like these - a dream!! 👠💘✨
Cuties getting married soon!!
Just sent this San Francisco City Hall elopement gallery out! 💌💌💌 Here are some favs - many more to come.
Just sent this gallery out to Bruna & Lucas! They wanted a quick engagement session before their wedding next year. Guys. Her dress is EVERYTHING 😍😍😍😍
Boats, houses and cliff sides on the foggiest day in SF. While driving home, we could barely even see 20 feet in front of us!
Sometimes I get into this boss mode where I sit down and edit for hours. That was last night! Here are some of my favorites from last night’s mini session.
I’ve loved playing around with light and shooting earlier in the evening recently. Little ones are so fun to chase around with the camera. I always find myself making funny noises and dancing around.
Something a little different. Swipe through to read about this session and location! Delivered this gallery today and couldn’t be happier! :)
Black and White picture walls are my favorite!! I have seen so many in homes of family and friends and they always look so classy and timeless.
Lily is serving a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Jacksonville, Florida! Even though she will be on the opposite coast, taking pictures at the beach felt appropriate!
I grew up visiting east coast beaches. We’d go to North Carolina, Florida, Delaware and more. I love those beaches because they are warm and feel like vacation. There are Thrasher’s fries with vinegar being sold right on the beach and Sunsation stores around every corner.
California beaches are so different, and I love them differently. California beaches have amazing cliffside views, rocks to climb on/over and explore, and caves to find. Although they are cold, beaches are the ultimate fall activity even in the summer! Grab a sweater and some treats and have a picnic!
Check your inbox 💌 !!! Stunning, beautiful, breathtaking, classy, elegant, amazing: words about Christian & Cecilia. 💕
I looooveee shooting fall mini sessions at the beach!! It’s so fun living on the coast and going to the beach whenever I want! Also, there’s nothing cuter than little ones tiptoeing through the sand.
So excited to send this gallery to Yroko and John!! They had such a stylish wedding, swipe to see my favorite looks. 🤩
My first fall mini session! Swipe for the cutest distinguished young gentleman with his tongue smile. 😂 I love the location choices we have in Palo Alto, including this beautiful redwood nature walk only 10 minutes from Stanford! I’m so lucky to live here! 💚💛
We had some time during our family session to get some maternity pictures! She is beauty she is grace! The most beautiful parents
Sessions with adorable kids are the best!!
Cactus Garden photoshoot from last week! So fun to have places like these in my backyard!
Weddings weddings weddings!! So excited for all the recent weddings I’ve booked and all the clients I get to share that special day with.
Realized I only shared half of baby Leland’s family photos. He’s gotten so much bigger since this photoshoot!!
More from Ireland with this amazing view. If you zoom in on the first picture you can see cows on the cliff side😍 Also, I edited something out of every picture except one! Guess what it is!
Going to Utah next week for my friend’s wedding! Can’t wait to be back in these mountains 😍
Couldn’t wait till tomorrow to post these pictures of Brooklyn & Bryce in Ireland.🤩 These cliff sides were the home to a ton of birds flying back and forth. It was insane.
Booking more and more weddings and I’m so excited!
More from this beautiful elopement at the San Francisco City Hall. The lighting from these windows was 👩🏻🍳😘💋🤌
Hi everyone! Before I made my husband take these pictures of me, I realized that some people didn’t know what I looked like on this account. Well now you can put a face to the account!
I am Hope. I recently moved to the Bay Area and am building my clientele and portfolio out here which is super exciting. I am an art director so I love adding artistic elements to photos as well as directing my clients to get the best images possible. I love getting the iconic shots with poses and then using prompts for the rest to snap natural and candid moments. I love reality TV, baking and winged eyeliner. Nice to meet you!
Just got back from a 10 day trip around the UK. We ended it in Ireland where my husband and I met up with our friends. We went to Giant’s Causeway and it was AMAZING. Swipe to see the crazy rock formations, fuzzy green cliff sides, the most perfect blue water and a wee family of seagulls on the cliff side. The last two pictures are from a castle down the coast and the road from game of thrones!
I am so glad I brought my camera! It was way different than what I normally do (portrait photography) but it was so fun! I didn’t mind having people in the shots though! It was an amazing creative exercise and I feel very inspired.
The legendary staircase in San Francisco City Hall. We love it! Ever wonder how people get married here? A priest calls your name and delivers the sweetest ceremony with your closest friends and family. It’s so sentimental and I felt so much love. ♥️♥️♥️
I’m going to the UK tomorrow and bringing my camera!! Stay tuned for pictures from London, Edinburg, Belfast & Dublin and drop recommendations below♥️🇮🇪🇬🇧
The end of a beautiful San Francisco City Hall elopement. I got here early to scout out all the best places for pictures so I’m excited to share more from this day!!
Yesterday I carried our mirror outside, set it facing up on the porch and got out silk sheets. I used my toes to hold up the silk so I could shoot under it - commitment is key. They turned out so pretty and I love the neutral tones. Do you guys like the pics on top of the sheet, a little mirror, or fully under the sheet? 🤩💍
The Palace of Fine Arts in San Francisco is such a beautiful place. I loved seeing the detail in the female statues around the architecture. I also love how the women are so incredibly jacked. I’ve been going to the gym so hopefully I can look at strong as them.
I’ve been going back and re-editing some old sessions and getting all in the feels! So cute to see how the little ones have grown since the photoshoot!
Can’t wait to go back to the beach! Maybe this time it will be warm enough to dip my toes in!
I’m so happy to be doing more weddings. I love being able to see the day pan out and all the planning and love that went into it. So far I’m doing a wedding at a beautiful forest venue, a mountain look out and the San Francisco City Hall, which everyone knows is so iconic.
A quick little coffee date photoshoot over the weekend. ☕️ Such a fun way to get ready for their wedding! Brittaney & Nick coming 2023!!!! 🥂💍
So happy because I am booking up a storm for the last little bit of the year and the year ahead! So excited for all the sessions and weddings especially! 🤍🤍🤍
Guys!! So we were going to take pictures on the water in San Francisco with the Golden Gate Bridge in the back but we got there and you could not even see 100 feet in front of you. It was so foggy so we snuck into the woods right next to it and took these pictures. It’s fun to think we were truly in the middle of one of the biggest cities and it looks like we are in a fairy tale forest! We love
Excited to add these to the gird posts! Being from Virginia, I’m not used to beaches having amazing cliffs and greenery like this! I’m so lucky to live here. 😍
