Our hearts are broken....our sweet girl Annie went missing early Tuesday morning, Sept 8th. Please say a little extra prayer for her tonight so come home, we miss her so much!!!

***UPDATE*** REUNITED!! Annie is home safe & sound after 23 hours, 54 minutes :)

"Thank you to all that helped in getting the word out about my Annie! She is safe, has a cut on her back and seems a bit not herself but she is home and getting lots of TLC. You all are awesome! "

Please spread the word! Annie was LOST on September 8, 2020 in Morton, WA 98356 near Butts Road, Morton WA

Description: Long hair Mini Dachshund, Black and Tan. She has no collar and is not chipped. She's 13 yrs old but in good health. She was younger in the photo and she was groomed about 30 days ago so her hair is a bit shorter. She never came back after letting out first thing in the morning. We have 2 other dogs so she wasn't alone. Hoping someone saw her when driving by our driveway or picked her up. Local vets and shelter have been notified. Please keep an eye out on Hwy 508 and Butts Rd.

Today is Traditional Craft Tuesday. Although this beautiful piece made by Carol Horvath is not necessarily traditional, it shows beautifully how we can take both traditional techniques and materials to create something that expresses our feelings in these uncertain times. • • • • • • • •
How does Carol's piece make you feel?

Artist Gabe Crow (Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians) represents a rising generation of Cherokee craftspeople who practice their culture’s ancient art forms with enthusiasm, stewardship, and love. An artist in several traditional media (he demonstrated pottery at the 2018 North Carolina Folk Festival), Gabe is especially noted as a rivercane basket weaver. Dating back many centuries, rivercane basketry is one of the most emblematic art forms of the Cherokee people. Rivercane baskets combine beautiful geometric designs with sturdy utility. (Some two-layered doubleweave baskets can even hold water.) Gabe practices every stage of rivercane basketry, from finding and cutting the cane, to slicing and stripping it to make splints, to dying the splints with natural colors, to weaving the baskets in many traditional forms. Gabe is also a skilled teacher, and dedicates much of his time to sharing Cherokee traditional arts with new learners.
