Making quality music isn't easy- at least for me. I've spent the last 38 years playing music professionally, working to become a better player, and writing music. While I've appeared on releases from others playing bass I've never released any of my OWN music written and performed on "normal" instruments. (I've released 2 EP's and a number of singles playing Stick/Warr Guitar over the years)

Making adjustments in how I create and perceive my own creations has been tough. Many of you likely understand the burden of being your own worst critic. While playing a live show is relatively easy and fun, the permanence of a recording raises the bar for my desire to demonstrate and codify excellence to the best of my ability for posterity.

A very good friend of mine recently posted some great advice in this regard: "JUST PRESS RECORD!"

So my next project is to record tunes for the RPM Challenge and book some more shows.

I had a few requests about where to get some of the songs that we played on Sunday.

Well- I wrote those tunes and I need to record them. I'm glad that people like them!

I had a great time rocking with The Funk Truck this afternoon at Point Labaddie Brewery. Thanks so much to Ron Carr (dr) and Eric Ferguson (bs) for rocking with me and to all the the good people that came out to rock with us!

On Sunday, February 17 The Funk Truck will be playing at Point Labaddie Brewery at 1029 Thiebes Rd. in Labadie, MO 63055. We'll be inside from 2-5 PM performing fun and funky hits and originals.

We'll have Kingvegas on guitar, Franklin Co. favorite Eric Ferguson on bass and the illustrious Ron Carr on drums.
Come on out and enjoy excellent homegrown microbrews and some tasty tunes!!!

OK- so I'm putting my plan together for RPM Challenge 2019. This my 10th attempt I believe. If I actually complete this challenge it will be a miracle that's been a long time in coming!!!

The RPM Challenge is an informal challenge to record at least 10 songs or 35 minutes of music in the month of February. I think that I can do this!!!
