So an “artist” a musical artist on another platform took issue with my opinion on ONE of his many wonderful songs covers. (Just to update, it was an opinion of a song he chose to cover. Not him, his singing, playing, etc)
His way of dealing with my comment was to link his many followers to it, on this platform, where I advertise things I sell, make, etc - which has now interfered with my being able to talk with & interact with potential customers because of the incessant responses, tags, replies, etc.
I am not mentioning him, his name or his specific song craft here because - especially in this economy- I don’t know what his financial situation is nor do I want to interfere with it. I am merely posting here to make the point that:
1) Not everyone is going to like EVERY song you do. Learn to take criticism.
2) If not, & you feel the need to address it, fine. Address it, but linking people to the commenter is a low blow. It doesn’t help you to have your followers attack ONE person’s opinion. There were better, less public ways of addressing it.
3) Lastly, my “brand” is now associated with that post & is now forever linked to that post & the attacks on my opinion not only continue, it’s affecting my bottom line.
Everyone is entitled to an opinion. As stated, I loved your work & had purchased it. I won’t anymore. Not because of one song I disagreed with, but with how you handled it.
Good day.
