yesterday we unveiled this commissioned memorial tapestry to the congregation at northern hills synagogue! at 3x9ft, this is my second largest work of the last calendar year….. which is nuts…. this piece is a memorial for a woman named bea, who seemed to light up everyone’s life. they tell me bea would have loved it and i think that’s the highest praise

hindsight/everyone telling me so/actively knowing but ignoring the fact that i spend a lot of time stressing myself out about making things, producing, really, at a high volume at all times as my top and immovable priority…. is maybe not………healthy…..but since getting back from my residency, i’ve been trying to “be chill” ……….. which still feels stressful, but i’ve been weaving a little bit at home (25% through this warp), and finishing up this tapestry commission (just needs to be stretched onto the frame and unveiled to the synagogue now!) AND MOST IMPORTANTLY spending beautiful hours with my partner, cats, and friends. i’ve got some exhibitions coming up and new opportunities coming in. all in due time, no?

FINALLY HOME from residency and i get to touch and feel and soak up loop, hook, loom by Sophia Cai 蔡晨昕 ✨❤️ it’s weird to think of being “contemporaries” with such talented and important artists out there ALL around the globe. very gratifying to see my work associated with them in print. one thing im always surprised by about my own work is that it seems to fit in among lot of different disciplines… it’s been part of an architecture festival, fine art exhibitions, craft and process-focused shows, painting, sculpture….. and now, a show for real actual functional furniture???? 🪑🪑 come see some cool designs by my colleagues, friends, and cincinnatians !!!!!! 🪑🪑
