The state of my art studio at the moment.
It honestly does a great job of reflecting how my life has felt for the past 9 months.
A year ago I wouldn't have thought I would be where I am now. Things have been challenging in new ways. I've faced many changes, but by God's grace I am still here and navigating this new normal one day at a time. Being a single mom, transitioning between different living arrangements to now having a new place of my own, starting a new job after not working since 2022, and navigating the complexities of having a child who requires special care has been weighing heavier on me than I care to admit. I've had to work through much healing of my mind and soul. It hasn't been easy, but I have faith that things will get better.
I haven't been weaving as much as I want to and that's okay. I have to give myself grace for where I am, what's on my plate and the season I am in. In general I don't do as much art as I used to, but I am still finding pockets of time to express myself through my creativity. I've been drawing, painting and writing more than what I used to. I still get time to weave as well. It may not be as much as I crave but it's what I am capable of at this time.
I'm grateful for this time and how it's shown me areas I really needed to grow in with my mental and spiritual health. It's been a journey in itself but I'm proud of what I am actively trying to accomplish. Being healthy, being present, still showing up and having the determination to work towards betterment.
Even with all these new changes there has been much good God has brought about. I've been able to help with my church's middle school youth group as well as sing on their worship team. I've been writing poetry again and even finished a song I started writing last year. God has placed beautiful new desires on my heart that I'm working towards one step at a time. Life is exciting! I could get hung up on all the negative parts of what life has been, but instead I choose to have endurance.
Rom.ns 8:28 NLT
And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.
