Tomorrow we’re heading to Tampa to tour Royal Caribbean’s Radiance of the Seas.

She went through a dry dock earlier in 2026 that included technical maintenance, general upkeep, and refreshes to areas throughout the ship, including carpets and upholstery.

Radiance is part of Royal Caribbean’s Radiance Class—a much smaller, more traditional Royal Caribbean experience at about 90,000 gross tons and roughly 2,100 guests at double occupancy.

She’s also now sailing year-round from Tampa, which makes her another great option for those of us here in Central Florida looking for a convenient drive-to port.

We’re excited to get onboard, see the updates firsthand, experience another class of Royal Caribbean ship, and add Radiance to the list of ships we’ve personally toured so we can better help our clients decide if she’s the right fit.

We’ll be dropping plenty of content from the ship, so follow along.

We’ve helped families booking $3,000, $6,000, $10,000 and even $20,000+ cruises avoid the same expensive mistake:

Waiting too long and assuming the cruise they want will cost the same later.

Different budgets. Different ships. Same problem.

A lot of people expect our first conversation to be about which cruise line or ship they should choose. A surprising amount of it is actually about timing.

A cruise might be $6,000 today with several great cabin locations available. Wait 2 months and that same sailing could cost substantially more, while some of the better options are already gone.

This isn’t an “always book early” argument. Cruise prices can come down, promotions change, and sometimes waiting does make sense.

But cruise pricing is heavily driven by inventory and demand.

That’s part of what we help our clients figure out: not just which cruise to take, but when it actually makes sense to book it so more of their money goes toward the vacation they want instead of paying a premium because they waited.

A trip can get derailed before it even starts, and sometimes it’s over something incredibly simple.

A few things I always tell travelers to double-check before heading out of the country:

1️⃣ Passport validity — Some countries require your passport to be valid for 6 months beyond your travel dates.

2️⃣ Visa or travel authorization requirements — Depending on where you’re going, you may need approval before you ever get on the plane.

3️⃣ Keep your passport secure — Seat-back pockets are convenient… right up until you walk off the plane without it.

4️⃣ Know what you can bring into the country — Medications, food, CBD products and other items that are perfectly legal at home may be restricted or prohibited somewhere else.

International travel isn’t complicated, but the details matter.

Before you leave, always check the latest entry requirements for your destination through the U.S. State Department.

A little preparation can save you a massive headache at the airport.

Here’s one of the lesser-known secrets on Disney Cruise Line.

While Disney Cruise Line doesn’t have your traditional beverage packages like, say, Royal Caribbean, they do have a pretty cool option if you like beer.

It’s called the Beer Mug Savings Package.

You purchase the souvenir mug, and then when you get a draft beer at participating locations, you receive a 22-ounce pour while only paying the price of a standard 16-ounce beer.

Pretty neat.

You can use it at different bars around the ship, and if you don’t feel like carrying a big beer mug around with you all day, they’ll give you a token that you can bring to the next participating bar and exchange for a clean mug.

Then when you’re done, you can keep the mug as a souvenir.

It’s not a traditional drink package, and it’s definitely not going to be for everyone, but if you enjoy a few beers during your cruise, it’s one of those little Disney Cruise Line things that can actually be a pretty nice perk.

And honestly, a lot of people don’t even know it exists.

One of the most important parts of being a travel advisor is continuing to learn.

That means staying up to date with the suppliers, destinations, resorts, cruise lines, ships, and experiences we recommend—but just as importantly, building relationships with the people behind them.

In a little over a month, we’ll be heading to Tampa for our host agency, Travelmation’s Road Show, where we’ll have another opportunity to learn and connect with key supplier partners, continuing to developing those relationships.

The more we know and the stronger those relationships are, the better equipped we are to serve our clients, answer the right questions, and help them make the best decisions for their trips.

Always learning. Always building. Always looking for ways to better serve the people who trust us with their travel.

Which Wish-Class Disney Cruise ship is right for you and your family?

Disney Cruise Line currently has eight ships, but today I want to focus on its newest generation: the Wish Class.

That includes the Disney Wish, Disney Treasure, and Disney Destiny, with the Disney Believe scheduled to join them in 2027.

Because they’re part of the same class, the Wish, Treasure, and Destiny are very similar in size, shape, and general layout. You’ll find many of the same venues and experiences, but each ship also has its own personality, entertainment, and itineraries.

So, which one should you choose?

Disney Wish

The Wish sails primarily 3- and 4-night cruises from Port Canaveral.

The 3-night sailing can be a great introduction for first-time cruisers, families looking for a weekend getaway, or those working within a tighter budget.

My advice, though? Add the fourth night if you can. Three nights goes by incredibly fast, and that extra day makes a big difference.

Disney Destiny

The Destiny sails from Fort Lauderdale, primarily offering 4- and 5-night itineraries, with some shorter sailings available.

Its theme centers around Heroes and Villains, with a strong Marvel presence mixed with both classic Disney and newer entertainment.

If your family loves Marvel, this may be the best fit.

Disney Treasure

The Treasure sails 7-night Eastern and Western Caribbean itineraries from Port Canaveral.

It’s a great choice for families who want a longer and more immersive Disney Cruise Line experience.

The ship features Disney The Tale of Moana and the Plaza de Coco dinner show, which many of our clients have said is one of their favorite Disney dining experiences at sea.

Ultimately, the best ship comes down to your family’s schedule, budget, interests, and which departure port is most convenient.

You really can’t go wrong with any of them. Disney designed these ships so that fans will eventually want to experience all three—and I think they succeeded.

“We’re trying to put together a group cruise with my extended family for my parents’ 50th anniversary, but there are so many moving parts and I just don’t have the time.”

This is honestly one of the reasons we do what we do—and one of our favorite parts of this business.

Most families already have enough going on just coordinating life within their own household. Now add in multiple families, different states, different schedules, budgets, cabin needs, and opinions… and it can get overwhelming fast.

When we work with families like this, we’ll typically start by talking with the key decision-makers from each household. We figure out ideal travel dates, dates that won’t work, departure preferences, budgets, cabin needs, and what everyone wants out of the trip.

From there, we narrow down the best options, present them in an easy-to-understand way, and then handle the bookings, payments, dining requests, and the countless little details that come with coordinating a group.

The goal is simple: let your family focus on making memories together while we handle the logistics.

If you’re thinking about planning a family reunion, anniversary cruise, or multi-generational vacation, we’d be honored to help make it happen.

When people ask us if Disney Cruise Line Concierge is “worth it,” our answer is always the same:

It depends.

If you’re looking at it strictly from a dollars-and-cents perspective, it may not be the best value for every family. Concierge is expensive, and not everyone needs it.

But Concierge isn’t a value proposition. It’s as an experiential one.

From the moment you book, you have a dedicated Concierge team helping with dining, Port Adventures, spa reservations, nursery bookings, special requests, and answering questions before you ever step onboard.

On embarkation day, Concierge guests do not have to compete for an early Port Arrival Time during online check-in. They can arrive once the terminal opens, use the dedicated Concierge check-in area, enjoy priority boarding, and attend an exclusive welcome lunch.

Throughout the cruise, you have access to the Concierge Lounge with complimentary snacks, beverages, beer and wine, evening cocktails, and a team that is there to make your vacation as seamless as possible.

Add in the private sun deck, personalized service, and help with reservations or changes throughout the sailing, and the entire experience feels different.

For some families, those perks simply are not worth the added cost—and that is perfectly okay.

For others, especially those celebrating a milestone, traveling with multiple generations, or simply wanting the most relaxed Disney Cruise experience possible, Concierge can completely change the trip.

Not everything in travel is about getting the lowest price.

Sometimes it is about deciding what kind of experience you want to have.

That is why we enjoy helping clients talk through the options instead of just comparing price tags.

If you’re sailing on the Disney Wish, Disney Treasure, or Disney Destiny, don’t just walk past Never Land Cinema.

This Peter Pan-themed theater is one of those details Disney absolutely nails. From the moment you step inside, it feels like you’ve been transported to Neverland, with subtle nods to Peter Pan throughout the space.

In this walkthrough, I’ll show you around the theater, point out some of my favorite details, and share why it’s worth stopping in—even if you never watch a movie.

Sometimes it’s the little touches that make Disney Cruise Line so special. ✨🏴‍☠️

We just got back from an incredible time aboard the Disney Wish, and it reminded us why Disney Cruise Line continues to be one of our favorite vacations.

From the moment you step onboard, you’re immersed in Disney storytelling. Whether you’re a lifelong Disney fan or just looking for an amazing family vacation, there’s truly something for everyone—Broadway-style shows, incredible dining, adults-only spaces, kids clubs, relaxing pools, and those little Disney details that make the experience so special.

The Disney Wish isn’t just a cruise… it’s a vacation where the journey is every bit as magical as the destination.

If you’ve been thinking about a Disney Cruise, we’d love to help you find the right ship, itinerary, and stateroom for your family. 🚢✨
