The Art of Zach Gracia

The Art of Zach Gracia Welcome! I'm currently a Senior Designer for Disney Imagineering. I post some commercial and persona

Zach’s story began in Woodland, a small town outside of Sacramento, California. When he was a kid, Zach wanted to grow up to become a professional baseball player. When his parents bought him a sketchbook during his senior year of high school, he began drawing and painting and discovered his passion for creating stories and connecting with people though art. He is continuously inspired by the huma

n experience and spends most of his time designing and creating characters for his personal projects and commissions. When he’s not in his studio, Zach can be found watching horror movies, playing basketball, or visiting Disneyland with his girlfriend.

Growing up collecting trading cards and loving all things Disney, I never imagined these two passions would come together in my career. But here we are ON LAUNCH DAY with Disney Chrome!!

Working on this project has been an absolute dream. Seeing all the incredible reactions from collectors and Disney fans today has made every late night and creative challenge we overcame worth it.

Huge thanks to the amazing team at Topps for being such incredible partners, and to my Disney teammates who brought their A-game to make this magic happen. Sometimes the best projects are the ones that don’t feel like work at all. 😎

Sweet Charlotte.

You blessed everyone lucky enough to know you, a light that touched everyone you met. I’m not sure what made you choose me to be your dad, but I’m forever grateful for the gift of our time together. You taught me the language of unconditional love, the art of patience, and now the weight of grief. Your paw prints are forever etched on my soul.

I know you’re watching over us now, but I ache for just one more moment, you waiting at the door, bursting with zoomies and energy that could light up the darkest day, resting your gentle head in my hands, snuggling so close I could feel each peaceful breath as sleep found you.

I’m sorry I couldn’t kill the cancer that stole you from us, but it could never steal what we shared or dim the brightness of your memory.

I love you, Charlotte. I hope heaven is as grateful to have you as we were blessed to love you.

10 Years of Magic ✨

In 2015, I was working at Disneyland as an intern selling merchandise that I would only months later be designing. Before that, my journey began at Hollywood Studios selling outdoor foods and operating attractions (s/o Toy Story Mania and my family of “Toys”), surrounded by the characters and stories I loved, never imagining I’d one day help bring them to life. Wide-eyed and uncertain, holding onto a worn sketchbook, I had no idea this nervous kid would eventually help shape award-nominated products that would end up in the hands of children around the world.

The path from intern to creative leader hasn’t been linear. There were moments when opportunities I’d pinned my hopes on didn’t materialize, when doors seemed to close just as I reached for the handle. But I’ve learned that setbacks aren’t just obstacles, they’re redirections. Each closed door taught me something new about resilience, about adapting, about finding paths I hadn’t seen before. Most importantly, I learned that no one grows alone. Every milestone has been made possible by mentors who saw potential in me when I couldn’t see it myself, leaders who challenged me to think bigger while supporting me through uncertainty, and family who reminded me to dream boldly. The setbacks I’ve overcome were made bearable by the people who stood with me. This journey has taught me that grace isn’t just something you extend to others, it’s something you learn to accept when others extend it to you.

Now, ten years later, I’m still that kid with the sketchbook, just with steadier hands and a deeper appreciation for the magic we create together. From selling toys to designing them, from dreaming about Disney to helping shape that sense of wonder for the next generation, this full circle moment never stops amazing me. As I look ahead, I feel more inspired than ever to lead with heart and humility, to champion ideas that matter, and to keep creating stories that people can take home and make their own.

Here’s to the next decade of growth, storytelling, and all the magic yet to be discovered.

Big thanks to Canvas Rebel for the invite to share a bit about my creative chaos…I mean, journey.

The path hasn’t been easy (I’ve had more existential crises than I care to admit), but like I said in the piece: your path doesn’t have to be perfect to be purposeful. Turns out, that thing you once doodled on a receipt might just lead somewhere after all.

Appreciate everyone who’s been part of the ride so far. And if you’re still figuring it out? Same. Let’s keep showing up anyway.

These are just a few highlights but check out the full interview here:

Very exciting news—I’m so thrilled to share that I’ve been promoted to Product Design Manager!!!

The past few years have been an incredible journey, managing the Consumer Electronics and Sporting Goods categories and bringing innovative products to life. From launching collaborations with CASETiFY that landed on Good Morning America and Hot Ones, to collaborating with the The Topps Company and Fanatics during our evolving partnership, including the launch of Topps Genesis, which sold out in just hours! To our work with OpenBionics that continues to push boundaries, delivering inspiring designs across Disney, Pixar, and Marvel.

I’m beyond grateful to be part of a company that fuels my passion for storytelling through product. I’m incredibly grateful for my incredible leadership team-for their trust, guidance, and for giving me the opportunity to grow. I’m so excited for what’s ahead!

2024 was, without a doubt, the best year of my life. I married the love of my life—hi, Kelsey!—and had no idea how truly special that day would be until someone started cutting onions in every room I walked into 🥲. I’ll never be able to fully express my gratitude to everyone who helped make that day unforgettable.

I also started grad school, diving headfirst into marketing and discovering just how much coffee one person can consume while cranking out endless papers and analyses. Professionally, this year brought incredible milestones, from being nominated for multiple industry awards to overseeing portfolios across Disney, Pixar, and Marvel has been an honor, blending creativity and innovation in ways I’m deeply proud of.

Also, shoutout to our amazing partners at Topps for giving me the perfect excuse to justify my sports card hobby (okay, addiction) to my wife as “market research.” 😂😉

But this year wasn’t just about milestones—it reminded me of what really matters: spending time with the people who bring joy and leaving behind anything that doesn’t. As I step into 2025, I feel grounded by love and driven by the belief that growth isn’t always loud—it’s steady, resilient, and rooted in hope. Here’s to a future that blooms brightest when nourished with optimism.

Oh yeah—and the Dodgers won the World Series 😎🎉

California met Maryland, and somehow we both agreed Florida was the place to be. Who knew a West Coast guy and an East Coast girl would meet in the middle… of a theme park! 🌞🏖️

I’m going to Grad School!! A few days ago I was accepted into the Masters program at Wake Forest and I couldn’t be more excited to be going back to school and doing homework again!! 😂

Also..as a goodbye to any free time I used to have- I thought it would be fun to update the Wake Forest logo and update the Demon Deacon’s look a little bit. This was not part of the admissions process 😂

I’m super excited to go back and get my Master’s and begin this next chapter.

Go Deacs!!
