10 Years of Magic ✨
In 2015, I was working at Disneyland as an intern selling merchandise that I would only months later be designing. Before that, my journey began at Hollywood Studios selling outdoor foods and operating attractions (s/o Toy Story Mania and my family of “Toys”), surrounded by the characters and stories I loved, never imagining I’d one day help bring them to life. Wide-eyed and uncertain, holding onto a worn sketchbook, I had no idea this nervous kid would eventually help shape award-nominated products that would end up in the hands of children around the world.
The path from intern to creative leader hasn’t been linear. There were moments when opportunities I’d pinned my hopes on didn’t materialize, when doors seemed to close just as I reached for the handle. But I’ve learned that setbacks aren’t just obstacles, they’re redirections. Each closed door taught me something new about resilience, about adapting, about finding paths I hadn’t seen before. Most importantly, I learned that no one grows alone. Every milestone has been made possible by mentors who saw potential in me when I couldn’t see it myself, leaders who challenged me to think bigger while supporting me through uncertainty, and family who reminded me to dream boldly. The setbacks I’ve overcome were made bearable by the people who stood with me. This journey has taught me that grace isn’t just something you extend to others, it’s something you learn to accept when others extend it to you.
Now, ten years later, I’m still that kid with the sketchbook, just with steadier hands and a deeper appreciation for the magic we create together. From selling toys to designing them, from dreaming about Disney to helping shape that sense of wonder for the next generation, this full circle moment never stops amazing me. As I look ahead, I feel more inspired than ever to lead with heart and humility, to champion ideas that matter, and to keep creating stories that people can take home and make their own.
Here’s to the next decade of growth, storytelling, and all the magic yet to be discovered.
