Haven's gotten tickets for our end of the year concert on April 28? Now is your chance. We would love to see you there.
The Varsity Winterguard competed yesterday in the preliminary competition of the WGI World Championships. Their score has allowed them to move on to the semi finals competition today.
The end of last week was quite busy for members of the Boone Band program.
On Thursday, our Wind Ensemble earned straight superior ratings for their performance at the FBA District 8 Music Performance Assessment event.
On Friday, the Symphonic Band participated in the same event and earned an overall superior rating. We think this is the first superior the 2nd band at Boone has earned since the 2006-2007 school year.
On Saturday, our Varsity guard participated in the Winter Guard International Regional Championships in Tampa and finished in 3rd place. Their score ranks them 9th of all Scholastic Open guards in the current national ranking system.
We are very proud of our students and their outstanding work and accomplishments.
Very proud of Katelanny!! She is a 4 year member of our Saxophone Section.
Congratulations to Katelanny Diaz, Boone High School’s first Super Scholar for the class of 2022! Katelanny has received a full-ride scholarship to Rice University where she will study computer science. Only 9% of students who apply to Rice are admitted each year at this 17th ranked university in the country. Congratulations on being one of Rice University’s Class of 2026! We couldn’t be more proud of you.
Hello Braves! Grab dinner tonight and support the William R. Boone Guard who recently competed in the state finals with the Sound of the Braves!! They are moving into Winter Guard training and competitions and need our support.
Stop by Chipotle on S. Orange (across from SoDo Shopping center) for dinner tonight and tell them you’re supporting the Boone Guard when you order in the store - or use the code on the flyer if you place an online order.
Thanks for dining out to support this hardworking and talented Boone Guard!
Congratulations to our very own SOTB for finishing 4th place in FMBC State Finals last night. This is the third time in school history the group has made finals and the highest finish in school history.
Did someone say play off game?? So excited to support our Boone Braves on a very solid win.
Congratulations to the SOTB on their straight superior ratings at yesterday’s FBA District 8 Music Performance Assessment.
This weekend the SOTB traveled to the East Lake Band Classic and brought home another Grand Championship trophy. Very proud of these hard working students!!!
We had fun tonight as the Braves took on Winter Park. We were thankful to see the rain go away.

So proud of our band senior!!
We are very proud to announce another Super Scholar at Boone this year! Nick Jimenez received an early admission decision from Vanderbilt University notifying him of this considerable accomplishment. From the moment he started at Boone, Nick poured his heart and soul into organizations such as band where he earned the national John Philip Sousa and Instrumentalist Magazine Awards. He dedicated many hours to Key Club, becoming president this year, and he tackled challenging curriculum including 18 AP classes! Thank for your significant contribution at Boone. We are so happy for you, Nick, and look forward to hearing where you decide to go to college!
Super proud of these three Boone Alumni. Daniel Mentzer and Morgan Meese are both 2017 graduates and Lydia Mentzer is a 2018 graduate. All three are members of the Florida State University Marching Chiefs and all 3 are section leaders this year. Daniel plays tuba, Morgan on alto sax, and Lydia on mellophone. They are such great representatives for our band and school and it seems like just yesterday they were members of the SOTB.
A huge thank you to sophomore Drew Jansen for completing his Eagle Scout Project and making a storage cabinet for our band room. We love when our students give back.
Parts of the SOTB are back in action tonight as the football team takes on East Ridge.
Senior Euphonium Player, Kaitlyn Sewell has been busy. She has been working to share her love of music with others, in hopes of inspiring them to develop a love of music as she did. Below she has included some information about her project.
For my Girl Scout Gold Award project, I created a musical wall as part of a sensory garden at the Orlando Day Nursery, a not-for-profit childcare center near Parramore that serves families living in our community. When I was little I was part of the Orff program at Westbrook elementary, and that inspired my love of music. I wanted to create a sensory space where children could explore making music and hopefully inspire them to love music, too. Along with that, I also painted an interactive mural in front of the wall.
New to the SOTB for the 2020-2021 School year? Please fill out the information in this google form so that we can help keep you informed about next school year and the SOTB. We look forward to having you making music with us in the future!

We love our SOTB Senior Class of 2020!
We love our 2020 SOTB Seniors!!
We had a surprise visitor today at Boone. Composer/band director Brant Karrick happened to be in town and popped in to talk with the students. It was perfect timing since Symphonic Band has just performed one of his pieces at MPA. We were very excited to have him.
The SOTB will be out in full force tomorrow morning at 9am canvassing area for annual band blitz. Thank you for you continued support of our program!
A Big Congratulations to the Wind Ensemble for earning Straight Superior Ratings at the FBA District 8 Concert Music Performance Assessment on Friday.
