andytoonz Disney Sketch Artist + Character Designer + Photographer Andy's love for art began at an early age. He was always sketching.

While in college, he worked as a Homeland Security Officer and sketched constantly on napkins and paper during breaks which gave life to his artist name name, "Andy Toonz". Andy graduated in 2010 with a Bachelor's Degree of Fine Arts in Computer Animation with a Focus in Character Design. He always enjoyed that feeling of characters connecting at an emotional level with people. A few years later, Andy decided to follow his heart and ultimately, the Disney dream. Inspired by the possibility of becoming a Disney artist, he decided to apply for a role as a sketch artist. His dream finally came true a couple of years later.

Stepping into the new Magic of Disney Animation at Hollywood Studios for the first time was truly special.
As a sketch artist for The Walt Disney Company, animation is more than storytelling to me. It is inspiration, creativity, and the foundation of the work I love. Walking through this experience and celebrating the artistry that brings these beloved characters to life was both nostalgic and motivating. There is something magical about seeing the journey from a simple sketch to a character that can touch millions of hearts around the world.

There’s something really special about holding a physical reminder of the artistry that shaped so many childhoods. Mickey and Minnie captured in that classic animation style, full of charm, movement, and joy, feel like a tiny celebration of the craft that inspired generations of artists including me. Whether you’re a collector, an animator, or just someone who loves the timeless magic of Disney, pieces like this remind us why animation is such a powerful storytelling art. Here’s to preserving the magic one collectible at a time. What’s your favorite memory from Disney Animation?

Today was bittersweet. My wife, Betty, received her 10‑year award from The Walt Disney Company — a beautiful recognition of a decade filled with dedication, creativity, and heart. And yet, this milestone arrived at the same time she was laid off. It’s hard to see someone you love close a chapter they poured so much of themselves into. But I’m incredibly proud of everything she accomplished, every magical moment she helped create, and the legacy she leaves behind. This plaque isn’t just an award — it’s a reminder of her resilience, her talent, and the impact she made over ten unforgettable years. New chapters aren’t always planned, but they do come with new possibilities. And I know she’ll continue to shine wherever she goes next.
