Guardian of the gates of the Underworld, he takes his post with utmost seriousness. Using his heightened senses, he is always on high alert to detect unwanted company. No trespassers may enter without permission and no dead can escape.

He only relaxes when Hades pays him a visit.

You're sitting mesmerized by the fire you made for your summer camping getaway when suddenly you get the feeling you're not alone. You look past the fire and see a dark fae. You don't know how long they've been there - their footsteps had no sound. They break the silence and say, "Follow me". What do you do?

How to propagate true bamboo (versus lucky bamboo, which is really dracaena)

🌱 get a bamboo stem/culm that is 1-2 years old
🌱 trim 3-5 inches below nodes
🌱 trim off the little branches where the leaves grow out of (this is where the node is)
🌱 bury the node in the soil (this is where the roots will grow from)
🌱 keep the soil moist and also put water in the stem cavity
🌱 wait 2-6 months

The bats with the longest wingspan in the world are native to the Philippines. They're called the giant golden-crowned flying fox and can have a wingspan of up to 5.5 feet.

Unlike most bats, they do not use echolocation but use their keen eyesight and strong sense of smell to find their favorite food - fruit. They are completely harmless and just like me, very much enjoy a late night serving of mangoes.

Venus flytrap

The most famous carnivorous plant, popularized by the movie, Little Shop of Horrors

It lures bugs in with its sweet nectar, waits for the bug to step on the trigger hairs inside, then closes its jaws, leaving the victim with no way out. The flytrap slowly digests its catch and reopens several days later, revealing the exoskeleton - the only evidence of the act. Soon its natural accomplices, wind and rain, gets rid of the last trace of the victim's demise, and it is as if nothing ever happened
