THE ORIGIN FILES: Building & Beta-Testing Zombie Outbreak! 🧟‍♂️☣️

(Check out all the beta test photos in the photo album "Zombie Outbreak Build and Beta Test")

Time for a massive blast from the past and a rare behind-the-scenes look into the vault! Before we all became grizzled detectives at Puzzle Corp Escape Rooms, the original crew started out as Escape Artists at America's Escape Game.

Way back between August and October 2022, our build team Steven, Mike McGowan, Uzzi McGowan, and Joshua, poured sweat, blood, and construction hours into transforming the space into a high-intensity survival nightmare.

Once the paint dried and breakers powered on, the legendary testing duo of Lauren and Luis stepped in to beta test.

Following the tests, the official gameplay trailer was shot featuring Mike McGowan as rogue scientist Dr. Acid and Steven as the last surviving scientist with the Institution.

🧠 TRIVIA: The laboratory gameplay footage, which shows Dr. Acid and Steven working furiously at the computer console, was actually shot inside the hidden nuclear armament room of the old "Crisis at 1600" escape room. That exact space was later stripped down and transformed into "Bigfoot: Secrets of the Swamp"!

The takeover wiped the digital footprint of 8723 International Dr, but we'll keep digging into the vault and uploading the history of Puzzle Corp.

THE EVIDENCE ROOM: Behind the Scenes of Commercial #2!

A little behind-the-scenes action of Puzzle Corp Commercial #2 before the music and rerecord of the dialogue due to the echo.

This commercial took 3 takes, and this was the only take without the characters breaking into laughter. 😂

New ownership can buy up a building and wipe a timeline, but they can't erase the absolute joy, laughter, and hard work that went into creating these characters and rooms for the Orlando community.

BACK TO THE VAULT: Commercial #2 "Do you have what it takes to crack the case?"

Sammy "The Hammer" Callahan is joined by Detective Idrovo (aka Bubbles) in Puzzle Corp's second commercial.

(Trivia: the nickname Bubbles was from a script of a Puzzle Corp detective series to be shot in each escape room where he had a photographic memory and could correctly count the number of bubbles in a client's drink! The handoff of cash was a callback from the ending episode where he solved who the killer was and Sammy says "you get a bonus for this one" in the Asylum series)

"Bigfoot: Secrets of the Swamp" escape room was a comical scary fixture at 8723 International Dr, blending deep Florida swamp cryptid lore with intense, high-energy puzzle designs.

"Better than dead ones" 🤣

Pulled another classic gem out of the archives! Anyone wake up early to catch us live on TV? (crickets)

Back when we were "brand new", FOX 35 Orlando's very own David Martin stopped by 8723 International Dr at 8:00 AM sharp for a Good Day Orlando feature!

Say hello to the original team of scrappy but best-looking detectives on this side of Orlando: Sammy "The Hammer" Callahan, Detective "Bubbles" Idrovo, Detective Lauren, Xander the Bigfoot, Detective Luis, Detective Tatiana, and Detective John Reveron (manning dispatch).

David Martin then took a live, inside look at what made Puzzle Corp Escape Rooms the most immersive new destination on I-Drive. Digging up all the clips from the broadcast buried in the archives.

All our original Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok posts, photos, and videos were scrubbed from our social media accounts, but we're digging backups out of the evidence room!

Next up from the vault is a look at Asylum (Oakridge Asylum), widely remembered as one of the scariest, most intense escape room experiences on International Drive.

The atmosphere and pure psychological dread made this room unforgettable for anyone brave enough to book a timeslot. Fun, scary times.
