Day 4: What’s your charity and why does it matter to you? Share their page/logo!
Mine is empowerHER They are a nonprofit organization who focuses pairing motherless daughters with other motherless daughters. What I like about them is that you have to experience mother loss before you’re able to be paired as a means to be relatable to the child or young adult.
In the mermaiding community I was surprised at how many of us have lost ours moms through abandonment or death. Opening mermaiding and pageantry to this community is my next goal. Here, motherless daughters can get a sense of belonging and help on feeling feminine when you don’t have a female figure.
I was 12 when my mom died, back in 1995. I managed to grow up with the internet raising me. Using dial up I found the information I needed. No child should have to depend on an object and not a person to ask for advice for growing up.
Environmental awareness should include your local community and people.

I used a photo of myself because I’m a motherless daughter. We come in many sizes, shapes, colors, and backgrounds, but we all have one thing in common, we carry the grief and pain from loss.
