As I was wrapping up my last canvas and thinking about what would be next, something caught my eye from the stash in front of me: an empty box from a kit I pulled out during the Olympics. When I first started this hobby, I gravitated towards Captain America. He is my husband’s favorite Avenger and our basement is full of tributes to this superhero.

“Cap in Action” is a partial kit from Diamond Dotz and perfect for squeezing in with my other WIPs. I started it during the Tony Awards and made a good deal of headway in the 3-hour ceremony. My fave part is definitely the gold metallic drill—is that a surprise to anyone?

This is an awesome addition to our collections—both Diamond Art and comic book-related. Stay tuned to see the finished product!

I’ve been looking forward to going through my stash to select this year’s canvas for Summer with the Masters. I don’t have stacks of eligible kits, but I do have one that jumped out: Capo di Noli Anagoria by Paul Signac (1898). This piece, like Georges Seurat’s “A Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte,” is an example of pointillism. Diamond art uses some of the same principles, using pure unmixed color direct to the canvas and allowing your eye to blend the dots into a complete image.

What does that look like? In simple math terms, it looks like this: a 4”x4.5” section using 40 different colors simply to make one section of a tree and the sky.

That, my friends, is what we call confetti. The progress on this one will definitely be slow, but I can’t wait to see it in its finished state.

She’s done! She’s done! This is “Child of God” by Claudia McKinney (Diamond Art Club). This is another Goldilocks canvas (not too big, not too small, it’s just right), with almost 50 colors. But let’s stop and talk about the glorious image.

The lifting of her face conveys a simple message: we are all beautiful children of a loving Father in Heaven. I couldn’t wait to finish this one and share it. I hope you see the glory in her and all around us.

I’m SO close to finishing! Just one group of flowers left and this beauty is done and it’s back to my other WIP.

Since I’m in my floral era, I’m looking forward to going through my stash and seeing what calls my name. And with upon us, it might be one of the classics.

Friday means another finish to be shared. (And can you believe it’s the last Friday of the month already? How is that possible? 😩)

As mentioned last week, flowers continue to pop up everywhere, especially in my finishes. The Spring air is full for sure! “Golden Majesty” (Auclair Studio) is another beauty from DAC’s Amazon storefront. (Have I mentioned how much I love those?) This 13”x17” canvas has 54 colors and seeing it in person (the lens never does these justice) takes your breath away.

Shall we see if I have another flower-ful finish next Friday?

This is a far meow from the usual, but maybe not since the channel mascot is a cat. But this isn’t Prince. This is my grandcat, Steve, watching over my granddaughter. He takes the responsibility very seriously—even watching the monitor to make sure all is well.

It’s not diamond art but it is adorable and uplifting. May you always feel watched over.

Remember this beauty from a week ago? Once again, a road trip proves productive—not only in learning how to off-road correctly but also knocking out a canvas in a single weekend. “Peony Etude” from Diamond Art Club’s Amazon.com storefront is a stunning 17x13” image by Marianne Broome. I’ve been in a flower mood these days and the soft white and pinks in this piece are soothing and satisfying. The dark background somehow gently supports the peony without taking away its grace and majesty.

If you saw Wednesday’s post, you’ll notice there is another flower in the queue—and coming along nicely. At the rate I’m going, it may show up next week!

I can’t seem to have less than 4 WIPs going at once these days. I finished one yesterday and instead of turning back to one of my other 3 works in progress, I grabbed one I kitted up before the cruise. I simply couldn’t help myself. And for this week’s Friday Night Drills, I’ll start a totally different one!

While I’ve only briefly seen mention of 26 in ‘26 (not sure if it’s having 26 kitted up at the same time or finishing 26 kits in 2026), my WIP limit is definitely 10. 🙄😜😆🤣🙏🏻
