Not everything needs to start with some grand plan. 👀
Metalbird didn't, what was a fun weekend project, rapidly proved itself to be a blood brilliant idea.

An online store and a hell of a lot of graft later it was an international business. Not made in some mega factory overseas but locally to where the birds would end up.

We like to think this little street-art project has grown to be the world's largest art project. What do you think?

What makes Metalbird different?

It's in the details 👀

Careful design, premium Corten steel, and hand finished. All our products are locally made, in the regions we sell to.

That means our birds aren't flying around the world to reach you.

Sure we could do things cheaper and faster but it would lose those subtle details that matter.

It started with steel birds quietly appearing around Auckland.

Then people wanted one of their own.

Then another country did.

And another.

Now Metalbirds are perched all over the planet, with every person who puts one up adding their piece to the artwork.

Turns out the world’s a pretty decent gallery. 🐦

1st of October? Yep, it's officially spooky season.
And with that comes the return of our limited Metalbird bat...? Metalbat?

Whatever you want to call it, it has wings and looks brilliant wherever yours lands.

Made locally, right here in America, from Corten steel, so it's designed to live outside no matter what the weather throws at it.

Great Horned Owls don’t bother building nests. They move into someone else’s.

Add a seriously powerful grip and you’ve got one formidable neighbour. 🦉
