ODP Spotlight: Guest Choreographer Allyson Pfortmiller

From the ODP Program:
Allyson Pfortmiller received her dance training at Creighton University, where she studied ballet, jazz, tap, and modern dance, and performed with the Creighton Dance Company. She currently teaches and choreographs for various studios throughout the Omaha area.

ODP Spotlight: Guest Artist/Ensemble NEbula x LTGTA

From the ODP Program:
LTG: The Agency, or LTGTA, is the newest dance company and training program in Omaha, NE! Led by Aaron Derell Gregory, LTGTA focuses on hip hop, street styles, and artist development for pre-professional and professional dancers. The company is the first of its kind in the area and aims to be a hub for aspiring dancers to hone their craft in urban movement.

NEbula Dance Crew is an Omaha-based dance crew inspired by K-pop and empowered by community, culture, and creativity. Just as K-pop blends genres and transcends boundaries, NEbula embraces a variety of styles and influences. NEbula’s mission is to create a space for learning, artistic expression, and inclusivity that honors and celebrates diverse cultures and communities

“Vogue Mashup” - The collaborative performance between NEbula Dance Crew & LTGTA is performing a cross-section of Vogue, K-pop, and Pop. Vogue came from the Black and Latine LGBTQIA+ ballrooms of NYC from the 1960s-70s. K-pop has drawn inspiration from many music genres, particularly Black American music such as Motown, Pop, and Hip-Hop, while highlighting distinctly Korean components, including culture, instruments, and language. The collaborative performance between NEbula Dance Crew & LTGTA exemplifies how dance and music can transcend time, space, culture, and language.

ODP Spotlight: Guest Choreographer Vōx Dance Collective

From the ODP Program:
Vōx Dance Collective has a deep passion for collaboration, people, and the stories that make us who we are. We are dedicated to expanding and engaging audiences with unique, interesting, and accessible dance performances and education. Our intention is to create space for discussion and reflection on what connects us as humans. We invite the Omaha community to embrace modern dance by fostering a heightened awareness of not only the background of professional dance but also the continuously growing and evolving nature of the art form as a whole.

“Here Comes a Time” - Keep the peace and mind the status quo. Don’t interrupt or challenge tradition; this is the way it’s always been. It’s not your problem, just let it go. It’s not your fight, just step aside. Someone else will be there to take a stand; let them be the hero. Just watch and wait; it’ll be too late before you understand they lied.

ODP Spotlight: Guest Artist/Ensemble Heartland Youth Ballet

From the ODP Program:
Heartland Youth Ballet (HYB) is a pre-professional dance company dedicated to the artistic and technical development of young dancers. Led by Artistic Director Rachel Vickrey and based at the Omaha Academy of Ballet, HYB serves OAB students ages 7 through high school, offering exceptional training and meaningful performance opportunities. Whether dancers pursue professional careers or other paths, HYB fosters discipline, confidence, creativity, and skills that support success in all areas of life.

During the 2025–26 season, HYB performed Snow White for audiences of more than 750 and will appear this spring at the Holland Center as part of the Omaha Symphony’s Family Series in Rainforest. HYB is a proud member of The Ballet Alliance, an organization dedicated to raising the standards of American ballet through education, performance, and community engagement. HYB will travel to Nevada in April to participate in its annual national festival.

“Slavic Dance” - Choreographed by Altin Naska in 2017 for HYB. Naska trained and danced professionally at the National Opera & Ballet Theatre in Tirana, with a foundation in classical ballet and Slavic and Mediterranean character dance.

ODP Spotlight: Guest Choreographer Phoebe Perry

From the ODP Program:
Phoebe Perry grew up dancing at the Omaha Academy of Ballet. She then attended the University of Missouri, Kansas City, where she graduated with a BFA in ballet and modern dance. Phoebe danced professionally with the San Diego Ballet from 2018 to 2023 and has recently moved back to Omaha, where she teaches Pilates, dance, and owns her own massage studio.

“Right Here Right Now” - It is a piece about finding small moments to connect and be present, when it often feels as though maybe we are too small to make a difference in this chaotic world.
