The First and Original Black Theatre in Omaha, “The Afro-Academy of Dramatic Arts, Inc.”—Incorporated and Founded in 1969. (A few discovered archives). If anyone has more photos, programs, videos, or memorabilia; please post on this page. Thank you.

“Malcolm X”,—“El-Hajj Malik El-Shabazz”, and his ministry for the spiritual, cultural, educational, social, and creative, and economic liberation and enlightenment of all people; during that time, and to this day; was one of the major iconic cultural models and Black community leaders and advocates that “The Afro-Academy of Dramatic Arts, Inc.” sought to greatly appreciate and respect. The cultural and common sense teachings of “Malcolm X”. His wisdom exuded profound enlightenments, and deep cultural/spiritual understandings, many of which aligned spiritually with many of the teachings of “Jesus”, and His “Sermon on The Mount”; The Holy Bible, and The Koran. Many of “The Afro-Academy’s” cultural and creative productions, sought to increase the self consciousness, spiritual values, cultural self worth and appreciation of all people; particularly those who had been disparaged, disenfranchised and oppressed, for over such a very long time.

Thank you, so much! Malcolm X was and still is one of the Greatest Men in all American and International History. He educated and taught salient and enduring lessons about and for the betterment of all humanity! May his “Sacred Soul” forever rest with God,—in Grace, Power, Love, Victory, and Peace! Amen 💯💯💯💯💯💯💯

———————CROSS IT OUT——————

A Man acclaimed as “Loving God”—-
who walked walked this wrenched earth—-
He healed the sick and raised the dead
From a fruitless death—-to birth!

His man-made peers of sin—-
forsake His Loving Cry—-
And as they pondered “truth”—-
Condemned “The TRUTH”—-to die!

——————CROSS IT OUT”————-
A man acclaimed as---"The Black King" !
whose crown---he wore of "Love"---
died---innocently---passive,---
as his brown eyes---looked above !---(Martin)
-------"CROSS---IT---OUT"---? !

A fierce Black-tongue---"Malcolm Little"---
condemned white racist---to die !
to find his pious Muslim thought---
defiled---by Elijah's---lie ?
-------"CROSS---IT---OUT"---!

He defied---the white-law---
of granting Black-Ishmael names---
and canceled-out the "Little"---part---
and thereafter,---rose to fame !
-------"CROSS---IT---OUT"---!

Malcolm Little sought---the "truth"---
in names---of hypocrisy---
and in his search--'for self---the same---
He saw---the "sin"---in his own name---
and-------crossed---it----out-----did he ! ! !
-------"CROSS---IT---OUT"---! ! !

NOISE shines a light on some of Omaha’s notable Black families in our Black Legacy Families series. The Eure family is featured in our latest installment.
For generations the Eure family has made their mark in our community though artistic expression and humanitarian concern.

Touched by the sprint on protest, in their roles as entrepreneurs, activists and educators, they have created a legacy of socially conscious stakeholders and influencers.
