We are excited to finally share a new project that we have been working on

Welcome to Indigo Table— a culinary series where we bring you culturally affirming cuisines from all over the world and the stories behind them. For our first season, we’re taking a journey across all 54 countries of Africa, with each country represented through a signature dish that reflects its culture, history, and flavors.

Our first country being featured will be Libya. Here’s a preview of the episode.

Food tells stories and so many of those stories begin with the hands of a mother in the kitchen, teaching culture but also shaping futures with care that goes unseen.

Last week, Students at Benson High School wrapped up their year with a capstone. They prepared a full three course luncheon served to their families and key community members. This luncheon served as the final project to end their participation in the House of Bah Foundation culinary program.

This culinary program is a community driven partnership with the main goal of allowing students to explore different culinary heritages, connect them to their own food heritage, while also getting some hands-on cooking skills and experiences. For us, it’s important to invest in the youth because they are the future. The result of their months on end dedication to culinary education showed as each plate that went out represented hours of practice and learning.

We are so proud of these students for reaching this milestone and thank you again to Benson High for believing in the work we do!
