Swipe to check out Common Senses Festival 2026!

Over the past two weeks, artists, dancers, performers, speakers, writers, producers, partners, families, and audiences came together across Omaha to explore all the different ways we move, create, connect, communicate, and experience the world.

From performances and conversations to trains, sensory experiences, new work, and moments we never could have planned for, this festival was shaped by every person who showed up and brought some part of themselves to it.

Thank you to the artists who shared their work, the speakers who shared their ideas, the producers and partners who made each program possible, the team and volunteers who kept everything moving, and everyone who joined us along the way.

We All Move Together, and this year, you helped make that true!

And there’s still time to experience one more piece of the festival: Blair Bunting’s “One-Track Mind” exhibition remains on view through October 4 at The Durham Museum! Head to our link in bio to RSVP before it’s gone!

There’s a reason we call them Preferred Interests!

Hear from our founder Kate Weitz on NPR’s KIOS’s Live & Local to share why embracing Preferred Interests can bring joy and be productive in the long-term for neurodiverse folks.

Thank you to Mike Hogan and KIOS for making space for this conversation.

A dark purple panel beneath the footage displays an animated audio waveform, white subtitles, and the label “Kate Noble Weitz on NPR.” Kate explains why Common Senses celebrates preferred interests and the possibilities they offer for joy and careers. The video ends with a still portrait of a smiling woman with short gray hair.
