Most recent conditions in Gaza, as reported by the UN Humanitarian Chief, multiple US Senators who just visited, the humanitarian organizations on the ground, and the international media that Israel even allows in to see in the first place.

The humanitarian organizations are ones that serve civilian populations in wars all around the world, and they've all stated it's the absolute worst conditions they've ever seen.

UN has declared it uninhabitable.

ZERO functioning hospitals, while children are having surgeries without antiseptic or pain killers, and 180+ women a day are giving birth; some of them bombed in the process. Just a few examples of the current state of the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.

The homies at The Numberz.FM are doing a year end fundraiser/membership drive, and I'd like to encourage you all to show them some love by signing up for a monthly membership or making a one time (tax deductible) end of year donation.

The Numberz is a local nonprofit radio station/music platform centered around the Black music experience, and is celebrating 5 years with some big moves on their come up!

They currently operate out of PAM/CUT with support from the Portland Art Museum, and in addition to music they've been active in curating exhibitions at PAM and collaborating on many creative projects centered around Black culture.

They have been building towards moving into a larger space in the Lloyd Center so they can start interfacing with the public more, doing events, etc. In doing so they're going to play a instrumental role in reviving that space, AND more importantly this city!

Executive Director DJ Ambush is a friend, and SUCH a good dude... he's the realist, πŸ’―

I can't wait to see what him and the Numberz team do with this next phase of their project, and I thank you for considering joining me in supporting this important creative, cultural/community development mission!!!

Happy Indigenous Peoples' Day to all my indigenous friends and family!

I do love my life in Portland, but I also recognize and acknowledge it exists on the stolen lands of the Multnomah, Wasco, Cowlitz, Kathlamet, Clackamas, Chinook, Tualatin, Kalapuya, Molalla, and many other tribes.

This is THEIR home, and most of us are uninvited guests. We can all do better to recognize that.

My deepest and most sincere love, respect, and gratitude to all the Indigenous People of North America; today, yesterday, tomorrow, and always.

This is THEIR home, and most of us are uninvited guests who are enjoying privileges never afforded our hosts. We can all do better to recognize that more often.

My deepest and most sincere love, respect, and gratitude to all the Indigenous Peoples of North America; today, yesterday, tomorrow, and always.

Coming up on October 5th I'm hosting my next gallery event for Amira Alexander, aka MirCat DragonFae!

We will be curating the space with a series of new paintings Amira has been working on, and the original art and a selection of prints will be available to purchase.

Amira will also be gracing the space with some lyra performances, has curated an AWESOME DJ lineup, and there will be another performance guest I will announce in the next day or two that I am thrilled will be joining us!

In the meantime, I hope you'll take the time to check out this post of Amira's. I resonate so much with what she is speaking to here, and while I don't quite feel I'm at the same place yet, it's a goal of mine to get there. I found this post so inspiring, I shared it with my daughters as an example of the kind of women I hope they can aspire to become.

I am honored to host this showcase for Amira, and I hope that many of you will take the time on Thursday October 5th to swing through, enjoy some performances, vibe with some incredible music, connect with community, and BUY SOME ART!!!
