Milky Way during a thunderstorm? Yep.

While there was no proper lightning bolt, the flashes lit up the clouds quite well. Easily one of the coolest night scale shots I’ve captured.

Ever watch a rolling mist completely engulf a bridge?

It’s pretty cool.

Hiked out to Ling Point Overlook at 5:30. Tired, sore, carrying too much stuff…absolutely worth it. Plenty more shots to come for sure!

Have I had better, less waterlogged trips?
Yes

Did I probably ruin a camera during the process?
Yes

Was literally everything I brought soaked?
Yes

Would I do it again?
Uh…undecided?

Still. Got some bangers.

Sometimes you get lucky.

A briefly clear sky, new moon, and meteor shower.

Was there planning? Absolutely. Did most of that planning involve me winging it? Absolutely.

Dolly Sods strikes again.

Check out this rock!

Dolly Sods is a rad spot, and I’m finally making a plan to head back. So naturally, I’m looking through old photos and figuring out spots I want to hit.

I’ve got loads of quick throw away shots, stuff that just caught my eye and I whipped the camera out. Because why not eh?

Get outside while the outside is still able to be gotten out into!

“Hey, I know a place…”

Words I normally follow with caution. This time? A most excellent place indeed.

Go explore, who knows what you’ll find.

Another cheeky appreciation shot from the Mackinac Bridge. Because sometimes you get the timing juuuuuust right.

Stupidly proud of this one. Stupidly excited to make a trip back up there.

While I may not be a beach person…I’ve definitely got the itch for warmer weather and longer days.

Hoping I’ll get the chance to return to the Michigan UP, easily one of my favorite places to roam.

Anyone else have road trip plans for the year? I’m always looking for rad suggestions!
