You’re invited to Story Time in the Flower Fields at First Roots Farm in Oconomowoc. We’ll share a sweet story together, visit the sweet Kunekune pigs, and let the little ones wander the fields in the fresh air.

When: Wednesday, 9/2 at 10:00 AM (and every Wednesday until end of season!)

Where: First Roots Farm (Oconomowoc, WI)

What to bring: A blanket or chair to relax in the grass

Admission: $5 per adult • Kids are free!

We’re bringing that same magic to the flower fields with Oak Rose Photography!

Join us Saturday, September 12th, for our Flower Field Classics Micro Mini + uPick Event. Capture timeless portraits with your favorite people surrounded by blooming flowers, then grab a basket and head into the field to cut your own bouquet to take home.

Your ticket includes:

• A quick micro mini photo session in the flower field
• 2 edited, high-resolution digital images, with the opportunity to purchase additional images when you receive your gallery

How does a group micro mini event work?

Multiple families will attend during the same session time, but each family will have their own individual time in front of the camera.

It’s a fun, easy way to capture beautiful family photos without booking a full traditional photography session—and you’ll get to leave with flowers, too! 🌸

Pull up a seat at the workbench and let’s yap while I tear apart spent zinnia heads and save seeds for next year.

Nothing glamorous over here—just a giant pile of spent flowers, seeds everywhere, and me already thinking about what we’re growing in 2027. 😂

Flower farming is funny like that. We’re still right in the middle of this season and somehow already starting the next one.

It’s going to be hard to top 2026, but we’re sure going to try!

And don’t worry—we’re not wrapping up yet. Our flower season goes until the first hard frost, so there’s still PLENTY of time to get your flower fix. 💐

Thank you for showing up, picking flowers, bringing your people, sharing our farm, and making this season what it has been. We still have lots of 2026 left to enjoy, but behind the scenes, the wheels are already turning for what’s next. 👀

A BIG thank you to everyone who joined us for uPick tonight! 💐

You grabbed your baskets, headed into the flowers, and made the most of the most beautiful Saturday evening on the farm. The rain stopped just in time, and the blooms were absolutely showing off!

We loved seeing you choose your favorites, fill your arms with flowers, and leave with the prettiest bouquets. You also rolled with us when we shifted the time—and we’re so glad you did!

Looking for last minute Friday night plans?! This is your sign to come to a uPick event at First Roots Farm!

Not the vague kind of sign — an actual one, right here, telling you to put down your phone and go wander a flower field for an hour.

Cut your own bouquet. Take home a piece of the flower fields.
uPick, Fridays 6–7 PM and Saturdays 3–4 PM. Advance tickets required.
