I LOVE Montrose so when Sammy Hagar asks me to play those classic songs I try my best to bring it for the late great Ronnie Montrose!

METALLICA OPENING NIGHT AT THE SPHERE LAST NIGHT

This post I saw from a Bill & Ted fan is so cool. For the longest time I tried to distance myself from the film for reasons unknown to me now. I once told Keanu years ago that my fear is that in the end after doing some of the cool things I’ve done with huge acts from Mick Jagger to Funkadelic and even my Producer work with films like Rumble The Indians That Rocked The World is that my tombstone will read Stevie Salas the guy who did Bill & Ted but now im super proud of it. The extra cool thing for me about the other night when we jammed is that my Son was there. Weird indeed since when Keanu, Alex and I did B&T 1 we were all about the same age as my Son is now. So I added some extra photos including the photo that was shot in 1987 the night we shot the end of the film guitar solo scene where George Carlin and I wore matching outfits. ( before the hair comments come remember it was 1987 in LA)

Sunday night in Del Mar California I jumped on stage & rocked one with my pals Dogstar BUT the trip really started Saturday in Toronto where Rolling Stone Bernard Fowler, The Last Of Us Actor Gabriel Luna, Seeing Red bossman Bryan Porter & I jammed a song at the Runway Of Reziliance Fashion Show. That bash was amazing as was the after party. I then got up early & flew to San Diego ( on the plane I ran into the very cool fellow Oceanside musician Jason Mraz who is a kind soul with a lot of soul). I landed and went straight to soundcheck with Bret, Keanu & Rob. Dark Winds star Jessica Matten who was with us in Toronto wanted to see Dogstar so she flew in too. My Son Shane and his high school besty Will drove down from LA where they are in college and really made my day. Dogstar and me got history that started before the 90s. I met Keanu in 1987 when we were kids filming Bill & Ted and in 88 I met Bret at one of my Rod Stewart concerts and actor Rob would become drummer Rob shortly after in the 90s. Here are some photos and a little video of the weekend that was.
