Artist Spotlight: Toni Camp Art

At the center of Toni’s work is a deep sense of home. She is an abstract acrylic artist working with elements of Impressionism woven throughout her paintings.

Creativity has always been part of Toni’s life, though for many years it remained on the back burner. Returning to painting felt like a quiet homecoming- an intentional return to something essential.

Her work is intuitive and layered, shaped more by memory, place, and emotion than by literal representation. Influenced by the natural beauty and atmosphere of the Gulf Coast, her style balances movement and restraint, softness and structure.

Toni creates as a way to slow down and make space- for reflection, for noticing, and for meaning to emerge rather than be explained.

Her practice has been shaped by years of
continued study through workshops, classes, and online instruction. Toni lives in Ocean Springs and was recently honored with the Excellence in Acrylic award at the Singing River Art Association Spring Show.

Artist Spotlight: Vielsa Harding

A multi-award-winning realist artist,
her vibrant colors and masterful technique breathe timeless beauty and life into her paintings.

Born in the Republic of Panama, she has called the Mississippi Gulf Coast home for more than fifteen years and now lives in Biloxi.

Her artistic journey began modestly during her child-rearing years as a creative outlet, initially working in watercolors and acrylics.

Through dedicated study of instructional videos, books, workshops, and formal lessons (combined with years of consistent practice) she developed a strong proficiency in oils, soft pastels, and mixed media.

Vielsa’s richly varied subject matter includes
breathtaking landscapes, sensitive portraits, delicate flowers, graceful birds, and compelling still lives.

Deeply rooted in biblical truth, her work intentionally reflects what is good, true, and beautiful, celebrating God’s creation and inviting viewers to see His handiwork through art.

Artist Spotlight: Kathy Tosh

A self-taught taught artist, Kathy paints full time in her backyard studio among the trees, birds and squirrels in Ocean Springs, Mississippi.

Kathy likes to refer to herself as a “pixie dust spreader on a tilt-a-whirl” when it comes to her art. Her hope is that her paintings will spin out into the universe for someone else to enjoy.

She paints all manner of subjects including interpretive portraits, figures, landscapes, florals and animals, all with an unexpected twist. Color, magical marks, and symbols are woven into her work.

Her work can be found at The Art House and Walter Anderson Museum of Art Gift Shop in Ocean Springs, and her exhibition “Face2Face” will hang at The Traveler at WAMA September through December.
