Did you know North Beach CTE students are developing creative skills that connect directly to today’s careers?
Through Commercial Art, students gain hands-on experience in graphic design, branding, advertising, publishing, and digital media. They also learn to use Adobe Creative Suite—the same professional software used throughout the creative industry.
Students apply these skills to real projects with real audiences, learning how to communicate ideas visually, meet deadlines, respond to feedback, and produce professional-quality work.
Commercial Art prepares students for careers in graphic design, marketing, photography, publishing, social media, and many other creative fields.
At North Beach, CTE students aren’t just creating art—they’re building portfolios, developing workplace skills, and preparing for their futures.

Great things are happening in North Beach Jr/Sr High School's CTE programs!

DID YOU KNOW?

Career and Technical Education (CTE) at North Beach Jr/Sr High School has undergone significant growth and transformation over the past year, creating more opportunities than ever before for students to explore careers, earn college credit, and develop real-world employability skills.

Today, students can choose from multiple CTE pathways that help prepare them for success after graduation—whether their future plans include college, technical training, military service, entrepreneurship, or entering the workforce.

We're excited to announce two new articulation agreements with Grays Harbor College that allow students to earn college credit while attending North Beach Jr/Sr High School:
✅ Chef's Training
✅ Publishing/Yearbook 2
Students who successfully complete these courses can earn college credit, helping them get a head start on their postsecondary education while saving time and money.

But CTE is about more than earning credits.

Our advanced CTE courses are being developed to mirror real-world workplaces and small businesses. Students learn professional skills while creating products, providing services, managing projects, and making decisions similar to those they will encounter in their future careers. These experiences help students build confidence, responsibility, teamwork, communication, and leadership skills that employers value.

CTE programs also play an important role in strengthening our local workforce by helping students discover career interests and develop skills that can lead to successful careers right here in our community.

Looking ahead, we're already planning for the future. A Construction and Trades pathway is currently being developed and is expected to launch when the new North Beach school facility is completed, creating even more opportunities for students to explore high-demand careers.

Over the coming weeks, we'll be highlighting each of our CTE programs, sharing student opportunities, college credit options, and the exciting work happening in our classrooms.

Big things are happening in the North Beach CTE Arts program! Our students have been putting in serious work across multiple production methods — from original t-shirt designs to hands-on silkscreen imaging to laser etching. What you're seeing here aren't just classroom projects — it's real-world creative output from students learning professional design and fabrication workflows.

Our CTE Arts Commercial Art students have been learning new techniques and have been creating art using linoleum blocks. Our goal is to have greeting cards in production soon!

The North Beach Jr/Sr High School's CTE Arts students got inky with their first try at letterpress printing using a hand press today!
