I see it through my paintings, the music I write, the photographs I take, even the jewelry I make. It's not so much about the words for me; it's about the emotion I create for myself. Coming upon the unexpected and being fine with that (sometimes referred to as "happy mistakes"!). Well, this is definitely my year of CHANGE. I'm taking another BIG step. I decided to start a website for creatives like me who I like to call "Creative Introverts". We enjoy making things for ourselves but for the most part are very shy about sharing what we do with others, let alone try to sell. Fear gets in our way. It is a roadblock that sadly stops many of us from advancing. That doesn't even have to mean selling anything. It just means we are afraid of failure in taking something to the next level. Well, because I am one of those folks and have to work hard at overcoming various fears, I have created a website, http://www.OriginallyU.com. And I'm hoping in sharing problems, challenges I face and how I deal with them, I can be of help to another creative introvert who may be challenged too. I also plan to interview other creatives about the challenges they encounter and what keeps them going. so I invite you to drop by - more than once - because we're constantly evolving - right? Things are never totally finished and neither is this website! Ha! Onward and upward! My new mantra: Dare to be seen. Create to be free.

What a wonderful time I had this weekend at Nautical Wheelers (NW) in Oriental, NC! Special thanks to my sister, Janine Piburn, who helped me so much! And extra special thanks to MDH Mike and my bro-in-law Roger - the 2 muscle men who had to lug many boxes of paintings, heavy tables, and loads of jewelry for us to set up on NW's porch. We got to meet so many great people! So special thanks to owners Camilla and Bill Wheeler for inviting me to offer my artwork and jewelry for sale to their wonderful customers. We deeply appreciate your generosity!

It's still early morning as I get ready for day #2 in Oriental at Nautical Wheelers. Weather is absolutely lovely. And there just aren't enough words to say how nice Camilla and Bill, the owners, have been to us! And their staff! Oh my goodness! They have helped in so many ways too! Bottom line: If you are anywhere near the area, come on down! This store is hopping! They have a huge selection of wines, clothes, great snacks, etc. And we have a beautiful breezy section of the porch where we are making lots of new friends! I was so busy yesterday I didn't get photos but I'll try to remember to get some today and post. Enjoy your day!
