Cooper had a blessed 6th grade Iowa Junior High School Rodeo season! He took home 5 buckles this weekend, winning the 2026/2026 Champion All Around Cowboy. This weekend came with some highs and lows and the pressure was intense but he managed to hold his place. I think the best award of all was the opportunity to compete against some amazing kids that will have friendships with the rest of his life.

He placed in the average for the weekend taking 1st in chute do**in, 2nd in ribbon roping, 3rd in team roping and sadly he missed his calf today and dropped him down to 6th.

Overall for the season he placed 2nd in breakaway and ribbon roping and 3rd in team roping and chute do**ing and 7th in goat tying.

Cooper will be competing at Nationals in Breakaway. Team Roping, Ribbon Roping, and Chute Doggin’ in Guthrie, OK June 20 - 27th with his sweet little AQHA mare, Ms Show Rodeo, otherwise know as sweet Martha!

Thank you to the amazing board, the directors and all the volunteers who make this organization roll so smoothly. It is hours of time away from your families to give to ours. It is a thankless job but the Rocking N Family appreciates you all so much!

Cooper had a great first day at state finals! He was voted Iowa Junior High School Rodeo Vice President! Despite missing his steer in his favorite event, team roping, he placed 1st in chute do**ing and breakaway. 2nd in ribbon roping and 6th in goats! We are so proud of you Cooper!

The Iowa High School Rodeo Carson Committee wants to thank our amazing community and surrounding communities for their support of the 2026 Iowa High School Rodeo Association, Carson Rodeo! Because of the outpouring of support from these wonderful and generous sponsors, we be able to award each event champion with a buckle for the Carson Rodeo that will be held May 29-May 31st! Our community is full of outstanding citizens that always show up for our student athletes, and the rodeo kids are no different! Thank you sponsors for recognizing the value of our rodeo athletes.
