NEW EVENT SERIES — TIDE TABLES — BAY AREA ECOLOGY, FOOD SYSTEMS, & AMBIENT MUSIC!
Introducing ‘Tide Tables’ our new series in partnership with Local Economy merging Ambient Music & Bay Area Sciences with conversations about ecology, aqua culture, climate, and food systems. For our first installation we will be joined by Wild Oyster Project Executive Director Giulio Salerno and experimental musician/artist Roco Córdova performing their piece “Water, Big Water, Ocean Water“.
The Wild Oyster Project mission is to bring native oysters back to San Francisco Bay through shell recycling, community engagement and restoration initiatives. They imagine a swimmable, edible Bay using the power of oysters.
Roco Córdova is a composer, improviser, and vocalist, who was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Córdova’s work fuses diverse influences with electronic media, chance operations, gradual processes, noise, improvisation, and timbral techniques of composition.
