Please join us for a reception at the ARC Gallery, 310 8th St, on Thursday, August 16, 6-8pm. The Chinatown Improvement Initiative is showcasing its work over the past year in a pilot area of Oakland Chinatown. We have engaged in sidewalk maintenance, graffiti abatement, merchant communications, vacancy activations, and public art and events. These are all part of our efforts to show how Chinatown can be clean, safe and well maintained for businesses, children, families and visitors.

Come see how the Chinatown Improvement Initiative is working with groups like Asian Prisoner Support Committee, Chinatown Community United Methodist Church, Chinese American Citizens Alliance, local merchants, organizations and schools to bring positive change to Chinatown.
