I left the pharma industry to pursue art in the '90s, only to return to support myself. My career allowed me to travel and learn about myself. Now, I've left the corporate world again to fully focus on art. Based in Chicago, I love its energy, activism, and cityscapes. I draw inspiration from how people, ideas, and images intersect, especially in industrial spaces, and am captivated by the natural

Introducing “Pattern Recognition,” the latest in my Community Portrait series! This piece is built with my signature process of collaging the composition with paper and finishing it off with a touch of oil paint as the final step. This portrait features my friend Linda, who has a rich and varied background from engineering to project management to community leadership in many capacities. I love how her beautiful face came together and is complemented by the geometry of the geometric quilt patterns in the background and fun touches and hidden text in her hair.

Went on an excursion today with McKenna Major to see the “Exquisite Creatures” exhibit by Christopher Marley at the Peoria Riverfront Museum. Highly recommend! This artist carefully preserves insects, small birds, and sea creatures of all sorts (all of which have died of natural causes) and presents them in a way that emphasizes their shapes, colors and sizes. It’s an amazing way to experience how stunning our relatives in the natural world are—all in one concentrated and artful way. Loved it!
