I bought my first Nikon in 1973, and have been shooting racing from NorCal to Long Beach to Le Mans ever since. I achieved my goal of writing about racing 40 years ago and have been trackside and in press rooms ever since. Bit by bit I will be introducing images preserved digitally and on Kodachrome of the first GTP era of IMSA, the Long Beach and Las Vegas F1 races in the ‘70s and ‘80s, several

years at Watkins Glen for World Endurance Championship races and the 1977 F1 race with the 6-wheel Tyrrell. In ’79 my racing pilgrimage took me to Monaco, the Nurburgring 1000 km, and Le Mans on consecutive weekends! I also have expanded my journalistic footprint from focusing on Marin County drivers and teams to covering all NorCal racing through my Pilgrim of Speed substack page which will cover all long-form journalism. My Pilgrim of Speed page will be where I share quick links to cool happenings, hot news, and informed opinions.
