I think that IMSA should run several online channels with fixed camera positions like this at every race venue. They can be up on the YouTube channel LIVE to create a genuine two-screen experience. If race coverage is at a lull or in a commercial, fans can always flip their focus onto something like this perfect angle to show the way the different cars handle the switchbacks, the curbs, and the way they sound.

It was a glorious moment of my life to witness these cars from the other side of the fence, blurs of my heroes in action.

But in-car video where you can hear every nuance of throttle application on the Cosworth DFV reminds me that it was more than a memory. It was an otherworldly experience; my drives down from Northern California to park and sleep in the Long Beach neighborhoods, strolling among the fans flocking for the thrills, and sitting in the stands by the pitlane watching the crews adjust their set ups.
