There is a beautifully busy weekend ahead! Make sure to jot down these dates and come out for celebrations, art, theatre, and community.

📍Tomorrow, Friday, June 19th at 6pm you can join us misfits in coming together with some incredible friends and supporters of ours for WDSL followed by a celebration in the streets for a block party in BSG.

📍Saturday, June 20th we will be set up at Italy Bottom Park in Big Stone for the 6th annual Juneteenth Celebration with a plethora of amazing folx. Plus, Chelsey has whipped up some beautiful new merch items including Pride and Juneteenth stickers and beautiful handcrafted jewelry and keychains to celebrate the month.

📍Sunday, June 21 the Mountain Misfits Theatre Company will present the outrageous, witty, and hilarious comedy for all ages...BOX AND COX...on the stage of the gorgeous Lee Theatre in Pennington Gap. This quick and quippy show is a perfect way to celebrate the father's in your life or to seize the relaxation of a peaceful Sunday, especially when paired with an after-theatre meal at a local restaurant.
Tickets are $10 and will be available at the door. As this tour starts to wind down, don't miss your chance to experience this performance for yourself!

Get ready because it's your turn Pennington Gap! We are heading to the Lee Theatre for your chance to experience this hilarious, witty, and fast paced comedy. Sunday, June 21st at 3pm...an absolutely stellar way to celebrate Father's day by giving the father in your life a relaxed afternoon of laughs, maybe a few dad jokes, and the perfect way to work up an appetite before a post-show dinner.

🎭 Auditions for the Woodbooger Historical Hike AND the brand new Woodbooger Variety Show

The Norton Woodbooger Festival will be here before we know it and we've got even more excitement to get ready for you all! That being said, WE NEED YOU!

Want to join the Misfits? Love storytelling, acting, dance, singing, juggling or any of the performing arts? Here's your chance!

We will hold open auditions for both performance events at the Park Avenue Theatre this month in preparation for a handful of rehearsals in August and September with the performance dates being September 25th for the Variety Show and September 26th for the Historical Hike.

We are looking for people with all sorts of talents, skills, and interests. From music to acting to storytelling to variety acts to puppetry and so much more! Spread the word!

Tonight's show was so much fun, we adore a reactive audience! If you missed tonight's performance just set an alarm now so you catch tomorrow's matinee at 3pm.

😂 Truly a comedy for all ages! Tonight's audience had a great variety of ages, all of which were totally enthralled...including even our tiniest audience members!

🌭 Concessions will be available for your favorite cravings and we are here to tell you that Little Shepherd does not play about their concession, they absolutely bring it in the food department.

Come out and fill up these seats for your local venues while you get a phenomenal experience taking in shows by local professionals!

"Box and Cox" is coming to Jenkins THIS Saturday, May 30th, at 7pm and again Sunday, May 31st, at 3pm! We're excited to bring this hilarious, outrageous comedy to Kentucky.

Also, these 2 performances have an extra special treat. Because of the perks of the venue, we will get to do this show for you in thrust meaning the audience will have the closest seats of any venue AND will be on 3 sides of the stage.

🎉 Mountain Misfits Theatre Company had to share a little celebration dance for our anniversary!

Now you've all been seeing plenty from us the last bit it being a tour period and all BUT

This is different...today marks the end of our first full year of business! 😲 I know, we can't believe it either!

We thought, to celebrate, we'd take a little walk down memory lane if all that's changed in the last year.

⭐ We started with 2 Misfits, then grew to 3, and now there are 6 of us.
⭐ We brought "Human Error: Stages of Love" to life and toured the region.
⭐ We made due with found rehearsal spaces (including a friends garage) and now we've gained a regular rehearsal home.
⭐ We've tabled at numerous events and will be back at it around the community again this year.
⭐ We created a brand new Woodbooger Script and collaborated to revamp the Woodbooger Historical Hike. Now we are not only continuing that with the Hike again this year but we've also grown that to include a second production, The Woodbooger Variety Show.
⭐ We have gained a number of incredible sponsors, partnerships, and friends
⭐ We've partnered with the Uva-Wise Theater Department to bring students workshops, intimacy coordination, fight coordination, and more and will continue that partnership.
⭐ We went from a single box of merch to a whole online store and full setup of hand crafted items at our shows.
⭐ We've put the Focus through it with hauling sets via trailer and tarp and now we've been able to get a box truck!
⭐ We have merch and supporters all over the US (and outside of the US) AND that continues to grow.
⭐ We've gone from 1 mainstage production to 2 this season along with the continued Woodbooger festival fun and some new events to be announced.
⭐ We've made friends and now are collaborating with some new theater friends from Philly.
⭐ We've added brand new venues to our touring lineup.
⭐ We brought "Box and Cox" to life and are actively touring this hilarious comedy.
⭐ We have cast and designed "The Maids" to bring to you all this fall.

And Y'ALL, this is just the highlights! We are so so thankful for your support over the last year and can't wait to keep celebrating, growing, and collaborating with you for all the years to come! Help us keep the celebration going by telling everyone you know about us and coming out to catch all these amazing shows! 💚
