What a fun weekend at the Eno Beach S**g Club contest! It was a full weekend of lots of dancing, good food and fun!
Friday night was kicked off with a Newcomer division. This division allows couples who are new to competing to get on the dance floor and get their first taste of the spotlight! The division consisted of 4 couples with David Bazemore and Shelley Harrill taking home first place! We hope to see all these couples back on the dance floor soon! Amatuer followed with 3 couples. They put on a great show with Jerry and Karen Byrd coming in the top spot, congratulations!
Mixed Doubles was next on the docket for Friday night. 14 couples competed, juniors included! If you were watching either in the room or on You Tube this brought some fun filled energy to finish night 1! Connor Sanders and Cameron Caruso brought home the trophy, fun dancing yall!
Saturday started in the afternoon with Junior I and Junior II divisions. It was so great to see so many juniors out to dance this weekend! Every single dance brought a standing ovation, smiles and some really proud parents and grandparents in the room! The future of s**g is bright and it was so great to have the juniors there dancing and having fun! The Eno Beach S**g Club presented the two junior dance teams with checks to help with their efforts in traveling for upcoming competitions to the US Open in November. Thank you to the Eno Beach S**g club for giving back to the future of our dance! Even though all the juniors are winners in our hearts, Saddie Honeycutt and Idris Bah brought home 1st place in Junior I and Graylen Kirby and Easton Brown won Junior II. Congratulations to all the juniors on a job well done!
Novice division consisted of 10 couples. The blood and guts division is always a crowd pleaser. With tough competition Matt and Lauren Flogel brought home first place and it is their first Novice win! Congrats you two!
Six couples danced in senior pro. Watching the experience in this division is always special. Gene Pope and Tobitha Stewart took home to top prize, way to go!
Pro ended the night with 5 couples. With fun music selections, the crowd on the edge of their seats and the dance floor filled with people sitting to get a front row seat it was the perfect way to end the night. Mack West and Karsyn Folds took home first place, congrats!
A big thank you to the new venue Festival House at Homestead SteakHouse for great food and hospitality. The Eno Beach S**g club raffled off a few prizes and the famous "cooler of cheer". Eno Beach S**g club committee did a great job, thank you to our own CSA members Cheryl and Clay Parker and their s**g club for all their hard work to make this contest a great one!
Don't blink! Next up is Labor Day weekend at the Fat Man's house! This is a two day contest and JSPA will have a junior event Saturday during the day. See ya there!
