The Contemporary Art Modern Project Gallery, (The CAMP Gallery) specializes in art advisory and contemporary art with a focus on emerging and mid-career artists working in: installation, painting, photography, sculpture, textiles, and video art with a specific direction of both self and worldly reflection. Looking at art, as a whole, through a reactionary and interdisciplinary approach, the galler

y covers the ever populating notion of society and life in general through art and curation, offering a creative space both in the gallery and out—where creativity and reality co-exist.

Preparing for Volta Basel 2026

The CAMP Gallery is excited to announce our attendance at Volta Basel  this coming June 17-21. Located in Booth C13 will be our exhibition “The Real, The Imagined and The Necessary” featuring artists, Karola Pezarro, Molly Gambardella, Aurora Molina, Silvia Trappa, Giulia Ronchetti, Dominik Schmitt and Stefano Ogliari Badessi.

Reality and imagination converge to trace the outline of our present environment, grounding us in a society we often forget we belong to. The works presented by each artist weave bold color schemes with a wide range of approaches to material manipulation in order to survey the present, offering an alternative perspective to our understanding of culture and community as we know it. In an active search to understand the changing world around us we often separate the real from the imagined as two opposites, dismissing their overlap and the necessity of having both. This exhibition is a space dedicated to challenging cultural expectations with motifs drawn by nature, environment and mythology.

For more information on “The Real, The Imagined and The Necessary” showing at Volta, our artists, and what we have in store, be sure to visit the links in our bio.

Highlighting Gabrielle Torres

Born in Philadelphia and residing in Savannah, GA, Gabrielle Torres, featured in our summer exhibition, “Swathed in Color, Line and Stitches,” parallels interaction and materiality with compositions rooted in dissolving conventional standards while creating contemplative structures. Torres’ works will be displayed through July 24th.

Drawn to a range of fabrics and textiles, Torres deconstructs formality in exploring the liberation that comes with breaking barriers between what is supposed to be vs what is not. As society pushes for minimalism and cleanliness, the artist’s pieces are reflective of growth, allowing for breath to enter the material and sustain it. Dynamically, Torres creates connection with materiality and existence, transforming the rhythm of her life into woven harmony.

Our time

In times of feeling the harshness of the present, Michael Sylvan Robinson, Silvana Soriano, Rosana Machado Rodriguez and Deborah Simon transform reality in an active exploration of internal beauty leaving us exposed yet pensive.

With coming to an end, we thank everyone who stopped by, including exhibiting artists Michael Sylvan Robinson, Silvana Soriano, and Deborah Simon. Our time at Booth U4 was well spent as we were visited by Hall Rockefeller, Founder of Less Than Half and Lauren Hirschfield who during curated tours provided insight on key works, artists, and themes to create an accessible introduction to the fair.

As we prepare to head back home, we extend our gratitude to Future Fair for featuring the work of Rosana Machado Rodriguez and sitting down with Deborah Simon for an insightful Q&A.

If you weren’t able to visit us in person, be sure to check our website where the works exhibited can be viewed. For more information on artists and upcoming news, visit the links in our bio.

A Fashionable Thursday In NYC

There is no city within the U.S. as known for its fashion quite like the city of New York. If you are a fashionista yourself make, or simply an enjoyer of intricate designs, we invite you to peruse through the work of artist and educator Michael Sylvan Robinson at our Future Fair booth U4.

Known for their diligent textile collages and intersection of costume, fashion, advocacy, and art, Michael Sylvan Robinson’s works kindle the viewer’s senses into a world of their own. As a performance artist with a background in costume design, the different areas in their practice transform into wearable art embellished with hand stitching, fiber and beadwork.

Through intricate needlework Robinson dresses the works in strength of commitment, stitching in resilience. By making the fiber works a tome of meaning through the use of distinctive patterns and varying colors, each garment-like work becomes armor against the chaos of the present.

We are back

This Wednesday The CAMP Gallery kicks off our return to Future Fair, in Booth U4, by highlighting the work of Miami based artist Silvana Soriano. Don’t forget to stop by and say hello through May 16th.

Soriano’s mixed media collages are full of visual poetry as she plays with line and expressive gesture, pulling from cinema as emotional memory. Creating visual mosaics where contemplation arises within the artwork itself and those who wonder of it’s origins. These fragmented moments of stillness depict the lives of women in film who through their storylines deepen the understanding of the artist’s own experience of womanhood.

The untold storylines guide Soriano’s practice in an active questioning of external demands placed women. By focusing on the fragility depicted by the intimate moments of these film stills, Soriano entangles the viewer’s own perspective within the preexisting narrative of the composition.

A Final Gathering & First Stitch

This Sunday, April 26th, The CAMP Gallery and the Red Thread Art Studio are coming together for a final event celebrating the wonderful community space that, like the Red Tent itself, has been nourished as a feminine gathering of care and shared wisdom throughout the past two months.

Join us from 12–3pm for a closing performance by artists Robertha Haddad Blatt and Aurora Molina. These two artists will come together in a performative conversation inspired by the Compass Rose and encouraging us to find our direction through the sharing of wisdom with each other. The performance is both a farewell and a beginning. It is an invitation to bring forward new versions of ourselves, as we hope this space continues to grow and evolve in new ways, welcoming more women from all generations.

🔔Make sure to RSVP via the Eventbrite link in our bio. And remember to view through the links and our website to keep up with what we shave coming up next.

Happy Earth Day!

In celebration of our natural home, Earth Day reminds us all of the necessity of sustainable practice and environmental protection. Using hand dyed and natural fibers, Evelyn Politzer’s artistic process embeds preservation in her active connection to the natural resources of her home country, Uruguay through materiality and subject.

Working in thread, Politzer describes her process as painting, intertwing the two art forms as her works often illustrate the use of brushstrokes through attentive techniques of knitting, weaving and embroidery. Born in a place where sheep run rampant, the Uruguayan artist continues to conserve resources in connection with her roots, providing a place of belonging for herself and her work.

Coming next month, Evelyn Politzer joins CAMP in our summer exhibition, Swathed in Color, Line and Stitches showing from May 8th - July 24. Depicting the fragility of the natural environment along with womanhood, Politzer’s pieces enact sway-like movements in touch with the sea’s hues to create textiles that issue a conversation between ecology and community.
