What if there was a universal guitar designer plugin that streamlines chords and key switches for any given virtual guitar? What if you could do the same for bass and add labels/icons for drums?

Well here’s a proof of concept plugin VST I’m designing to do this. And out of the box it would be configured for some guitars, basses, and drums… Like Axure II, Odin III, Shreddage Argent, any Submission Audio basses, Ragnar and Monarch drums. I’m also designing a feature to allow you to configure for other instruments (custom). Saving, loading, adding riffs, riff mode, all that is planned.

Side questing hard with some checkpoint indicator style materials (using c++ expressions for optimal performance).
Made a few that pulse when player gets close to an enemy checkpoint boundary (once they're at a checkpoint).

One is a Grid Style deal, and another is like scanlines sort of.

Can customize pulse speed, intensity, color, and UV. Neat... Ok back to the show.

Texture Packer... Why had I not discovered this sooner?!

I had essentially thousands of textures all in 512x 512, 512 x 1024, and even 1024 x 1024... basically largest power of 2 in an animation set. Texture packer took all that and said "hold my beer" then proceeded to place hundreds of images on 27 sprite sheets, twisting and turning to the actual size (trimming down translucent areas) of each frame. Draw calls will be minimized, storage also. It also makes these json files that organizes all your separate images (based on folders... Maybe naming convention) and organizes them as sprites in unreal engine. This thing is amazing!

I'm also messing with this Unreal Engine fork called UE-vite, which is a performance focused build of the engine. So with my ADHD powers combined, we're porting them game over. Just some small hurdles to overcome... Dependency related.

Preview of Jensyn's moves+ a sweet metal track I produced (needs further mixing, but fun ntl). Here's what 3000+ frames of animation look like in 2 minutes and 13 seconds.

Jensyn will be one of many Street Thugs in Heavy Metal Titans 2. You'll be seeing a bunch of videos like this for the foreseeable future. I'm in asset building mode. After I get nearly all of level 1's enemies processed, you'll see more videos on gameplay. We are focusing heavily on the level 1 hook. It's the most important level in the game. Has to be epic.
